ESD 2 and CCFD our operating a one vehicle accident 358 Eastbound and Laguna Shores ( going towards the island)
Expect some delays until they get the vehicle off the roadway. Only minor injuries with the accident.

🔥 BURN BAN IN EFFECT – NUECES COUNTY 🔥
Nueces County has issued a Burn Ban due to current drought conditions and increased fire danger.
🚫 Outdoor burning is prohibited in the unincorporated areas of Nueces County, including beach bonfires outside city limits.
The Burn Ban went into effect August 19, 2026, and will remain in effect for 60 days unless lifted earlier by Nueces County.
✅ Backyard barbecues and other non-commercial cooking are still permitted.
⚠️ A violation of the Burn Ban is a Class C misdemeanor and may result in a fine of up to $500.
Please help us protect our community and our first responders. Avoid outdoor burning and use extra caution with anything that could create a spark or start a fire.

ESD #2 and CCFD responded to a three-vehicle accident at Waldron Road and SPID.
Please avoid the area if possible and expect traffic delays while emergency crews work the scene.
State Highway 361 is now OPEN.

Multiple agencies are working a multi vehicle fatality accident on State Highway 361, near fire station 16.  Highway 361 is shut down in both directions. Expect long delays.

ESD2, CCFD & NAS respond, responded to the report of a house on fire on 300 Easy Cir. First arriving units found a fire in the backyard with a fence on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and overhauled. No injuries were reported. This is a reminder the grass is VERY dry even with some rain.
1st day of school is TOMORROW, 8/12! Be aware, be alert, and most of all be PATIENT!
Last night at approximately 7 PM units from ESD # 2 and CCFD responded to head on vehicle accident. The accident took the life of one driver, another driver sustained significant injuries and was transported to the hospital Highway 361 will shut down till just after 11 PM.
Units are responding the a significant traffic accident on Hwy 361 & Access Rd 2. Expect long delays going both directions of travel.
