Refinery Terminal Fire Company

RTFC was established in 1948 following the Texas City disaster, a tragedy that changed industrial safety forever.

What began as a cooperative effort to better protect industrial facilities and surrounding communities has grown into the largest nonprofit industrial firefighter organization in the United States.

More than seven decades later, RTFC continues to build on that foundation through training, prevention, and emergency response across the industries we serve.

During Trench Safety Week, we emphasize the importance and awareness, preparation, and proper safety procedures in high-risk environments.

Training and prevention play a critical role in protecting workers across industries.

Today we recognize Flag Day and the founding of the United States Army.
