According to my BMI, I’m morbidly obese. I pay a higher table rating on my life insurance. Statistically, I have an exponentially increased risk of all cause mortality.

The medical system in this country is a joke.

37 > 27

Boom, -30lbs since mid-March, 14 weeks! Today begins the 8-week off-cycle and the first half will have increased fat burners before going totally clean for the last four weeks to reset my body. Looking for another -20lbs.

Before anyone says it must be nice or thinks this is easy, remember:
- look at the time I’m posting this
- I workout twice a day, more if you count walking the dogs and teaching martial arts
- I eat 3lbs of red meat daily, and red meat is 95% of what I eat
- I intermittent fast plus have a complete fasting day on Thursdays
- I take well structured supplement stacks to assist with all of this

But hey - I’m 37 tomorrow and I look and feel better than I did at 27. Winning.

This morning was the end of week 3 on my PCT and the weight just keeps dropping 💪🏻

I’m lower now than when I began the bulk after the holidays - and I’ll never bulk the way I did again. I broke carnivore and animal based to incorporate rice and sweet potatoes at a level I’d never had before. So, not just off the diet I’d been on for years, but wayyy off.

So, right now? Lion diet. Red meat only. Strength building in the fall? Carnivore, add the other animal products back. Bulking? Meats and sweets. Fruits, not vegetables and grains. I don’t want to lose what I’ve worked for ever again, getting it back is insanely difficult. That said - being lower weight than when I started bulking - I look bigger.

And…wasn’t that the point, really? 😅

Had the worst bout of allergies in my life last night through this morning. Just…wild. The incessant coughing, lack of sleep, all of it prompted a rest day from the gym.

But hey, down -26lbs since mid-March when I started the mini-cut before anabolics, on track to get to -30lbs *maybe* by next week but definitely in two weeks. So, cheers to that.

I just never want to carry that much weight again. On the scale, lost all my progress for the year. Composition was a different story. I put on a lot of muscle that is showing through now. But the scale is such a damning mental battle. So if this is the beginning of week 3 in the PCT, means I’ve got this week, next week, then 8 weeks off - so ten more weeks. Keeping a 3lb/wk average would put me about 10lbs below where I ended my cut last year. And, that was a year-long cut. I’m basically attempting to do more in 20 weeks than I did in a year, fall 2022 to fall 2023.

You need short term goals in your fitness journey. Think of it like art. When a sculptor needs to add more to an area, more clay gets slapped on and then worked down. It’s the same idea. People who don’t make progress often have the long-term mentality in mind and get burned out thinking what they’re doing is useless anyway. And that might be true. But as soon as the cut if done, I’m switching to strength goals. Then back to bulking. Then cutting. It’s a way to stay motivated long-term by constantly changing the nature of your short term goals.

Feeling good about this fasting day. I’m about 21lbs down from the start of my cut and drop 4-5lbs over the course of one fast. Good chance I could cross over -25lbs tomorrow. And, that’d be on track with my overall pace at -3lbs/wk, measured on Fridays.

Should be a good day.

Why is this certificate so important?

In taekwondo, lineage and certification are extremely important - especially in the world of fractured taekwondo organizations. I’m a master, certified and ranked by the KTMA. But make no mistake - if I ever have to use what I know and teach, no one cares.

That’s the main reason (injuries aside) that I got out of sport fighting. That’s a ritual fight. There are rules, there are defined targets, there’s a referee. Nothing against anyone who continues to sport fight - I used to. But out there, no one is polite enough to square up with you. There are no rules. Those are survival fights.

I’d much rather teach survival.

Join me at for my upcoming, on-going women’s self defense classes and Taekwondo MooDukKwan classes! Comment ‘LETS GO’ if you’re going to be there!

So, what’s next? Stay tuned for updates on classes I’ll be holding at , including:

- Women’s Self Defense: an ongoing, drop-in based class to develop and sharpen skills with real world application. No sport fighting here!
- Taekwondo MooDukKwan: traditional taekwondo that remembers its roots as a hybrid, combat appropriate martial art as it was originally meant to be. Elbows, knees, and takedowns included!
