I tested it. Same bat, three different k**bs: the Pommel Precision, the Pro Taper, and the Pro Standard. Three swings each, TAG radar tracking every exit velocity.

The Pro Taper won. Highest average exit velocity of the three, and it was my favorite by feel too. Thin like the pommel so I could stay in control and whip the bat, but with enough surface area on the k**b that I could really pull back and release the barrel. More energy into the baseball. Probably why the numbers were higher.
