"Ribs Twist. Hips Resist."

❤️

Thoracic dissociation means your upper body can rotate separately from your hips. This ability may be one of the most important movements in the body because it allows energy to travel smoothly through you instead of getting stuck in your back, hips, or knees. Every step you take uses it—when you walk or run, your rib cage rotates one way while your pelvis rotates the other. This natural twist helps you move efficiently and stay balanced.

The exciting part?
With the right exercises, this powerful movement can be improved at any age.

Here is one really simple drill you can do TODAY:

1. Sit tall
Sit near the edge of a chair with both feet flat on the floor. Keep your feet, knees, and hips pointing straight ahead.
2. Anchor your lower body
Lightly press your feet into the floor and imagine your hips are “glued” to the chair.
3. Cross your arms
Place your hands on opposite shoulders or across your chest to keep the movement in your upper body.
4. Rotate your ribs
Slowly turn your chest and shoulders to the right while keeping your hips facing forward.
5. Pause and breathe
Hold for 2–3 seconds and take a relaxed breath.
6. Return and repeat
Rotate to the other side. Perform 8–10 slow reps per side.

MOST IMPORTANT:
Think 👉🏻 “Ribs move, hips stay.”

Your goal is help this area move better and to memorise what it feels like so that you can transfer it to the real-world when you walk and run.

Come one guys......this really works!!

The Sartorius muscle is the longest muscle in the human body, reaching approximately 50 cm in some adults. 🦵 It originates from the anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS) of the pelvis, runs diagonally across the thigh, and inserts on the medial side of the upper tibia near the knee. This long, strap-like muscle helps flex, abduct, and externally rotate the hip while also assisting with knee flexion. It plays an important role in movements such as crossing your legs and sitting cross-legged. Understanding its origin, course, insertion, and function reveals how the human muscular system coordinates lower-limb movement. 🧬

Fun Facts! 👉If every single one of your roughly 600 skeletal muscles could align, pull in the exact same direction at the same moment, and create absolute tension, the human body could theoretically generate roughly 25 tons (50,000 pounds) of force. 👉your heart rate beats about 100,000 times a day.

Piriformis Syndrome – Anatomy and Symptoms

Piriformis syndrome occurs when the piriformis muscle irritates or compresses the sciatic nerve, causing pain in the buttock and sometimes the leg.

🔹 Piriformis Muscle: A deep hip muscle responsible for hip rotation and stability.

🔹 Sciatic Nerve: A major nerve that travels from the lower back through the buttock and down the leg.

🔹 Trigger Points (TrP1 & TrP2): Sensitive muscle areas that may cause local or referred pain.

🔹 Common Symptoms: Buttock pain, tingling, numbness, or radiating leg pain.

🔹 Causes: Muscle irritation, prolonged sitting, overuse, or repetitive activities.

🔹 Management: Physiotherapy, activity modification, and appropriate stretching and strengthening exercises.

✅ Key Point: Piriformis syndrome can mimic sciatica caused by lumbar spine disorders, so accurate diagnosis is important.
