What a great day for a dog walk!

PAWS of Adams County hosted its 10th Annual “Tails on the Trail” on Sunday and what a great day it was!

A huge thank you to all the sponsors and everyone who signed up, participated and helped raise money to support PAWS. Your generosity makes a real difference!

The hardworking members of PAWS couldn’t be as successful in rescuing local animals and helping them find their forever homes without the support of our amazing community.

Thank you for coming out, having some fun and supporting such a great cause!

The Boy Scouts were hard at work last week creating a fun new area to play Gaga Ball! 🏐

If you’ve ever been to a youth camp, chances are you’ve seen a Gaga Ball pit. Gaga Ball is a fast-paced game that is similar to dodgeball, combining jumping, dodging, running and striking with the goal of being the last player standing.

The word Gaga is often translated as “hit-hit” or “touch-touch” in Hebrew. The game is played inside a Gaga Ball pit, with players using their hands to hit the ball toward the other players.

So, how do you play?

🏐 Everyone starts inside the pit with the ball.

🙌 Players use their hands to hit the ball along the ground and try to hit another player.

⬇️ If the ball hits you on the waist or below, you’re out!

🦘 You can jump, dodge and move around the pit to avoid getting hit.

🏆 Keep playing until there is only one player left.... the last person standing wins!

Gaga Ball can be played one-on-one, in small groups, or with teams, making it a great activity for kids of different ages and abilities.

A HUGE thank you to the Boy Scouts for putting in the time and hard work to build this new Gaga Ball pit for our community! We can’t wait to see kids enjoying it! ❤️

Riverside Center is looking a little different these days, and we have Heller Nursery and Park and Rec staff to thank for helping give the area a fresh, beautiful look!

The new landscaping may look a little small right now, but give it some time! 🌱 These plants will grow, and by spring we expect this area to really come to life. We’re excited to watch it transform over the next few years.

We're working hard to take spaces that have been worn or simply lost their purpose and turn them into something beautiful again. Our goal is to create spaces that the community want to spend time in, enjoy, and be proud of.

We also gave the gazebo a much needed refresh! New boards were added where the old ones were starting to fall apart, everything was painted, and new lights were added to make it a beautiful and relaxing place to enjoy in the evenings. ✨

The gazebo has become one of our favorite little spots at Riverside Center. Whether you’re looking for a great picture spot, a place to sit and relax, or even a beautiful setting for a special occasion. In fact, we’ve even had couples get married here when they've rent space at Riverside Center! 💍

We’re excited to see the landscaping grow and the area continue to become an even more inviting part of Riverside Center.
