“At just 10 years old, Harlee demonstrates a level of maturity, dedication, and character that extends far beyond her years. Her incredible work ethic and commitment to becoming the best dancer she can be are evident every time she steps into the studio. She consistently leads by example through her focus, attentiveness, self-discipline, and willingness to put in the hard work necessary to grow.

One of the qualities I admire most about Harlee is her ability to receive feedback and constructive criticism with such a positive attitude. Rather than viewing corrections as something negative, she embraces them as opportunities to learn, improve, and challenge herself. This mindset is incredibly admirable, especially at such a young age, and is a quality that will take her far beyond the dance studio.

What makes Harlee even more special is the way she treats those around her. She is genuinely invested in the success of her teammates and is often one of the first to celebrate their accomplishments. Whether it’s offering a high five, giving a hug, or sharing words of encouragement when someone masters a new skill or receives praise from an instructor, Harlee makes a conscious effort to lift others up.

Harlee is a wonderful reminder that being a great dancer is about so much more than talent and technique. It’s about character, kindness, perseverance, and the impact you have on those around you. She contributes to such a positive and supportive atmosphere at the studio, and I couldn’t be more proud of her. Harlee is truly deserving of this recognition!”

🇺🇸✨TEAM USA✨🇺🇸

We are SO excited to share some incredible news! This past weekend, Jill and Quinn auditioned for Tap Team USA at Keane Sense of Rhythm and were both selected to represent TEAM USA! ❤️🤍💙

They’ll be traveling to Minneapolis for biweekly training throughout the summer as they prepare for the Dance World Cup in Lisbon, Portugal in June 2027!

What an amazing accomplishment and opportunity for these two! We are so proud of the hard work, dedication, and talent that earned them a spot on Team USA, and we cannot wait to cheer them on as they take their tap dancing to the WORLD stage! 👏🏻

🎉IT’S BACK!!!🎉

Each month, Directors and instructors at 218 Dance Project will award a dancer the title of, Dancer of the Month. Instructors will have the opportunity to nominate dancers they feel fit the vision of 218 Dance Project. Our vision includes dancers who create team-building and camaraderie within their classes, promote self-discipline and project a strong work ethic, exude confidence and a positive attitude, and demonstrate self-respect and respect for others. Our Dancer of the Month will be promoted on social media and will be entered into a drawing for a prize at the end of the season, courtesy of 218 Dance Project.

“This is Amelia’s first year on a full competition team, and she has risen to the challenge in every way. She consistently works to refine her choreography, returning to class each day with clear progress and excitement to share what she’s been practicing.

Amelia is also a wonderful teammate who treats others with respect and always brings a smile to class. The Timbers are lucky to have her, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for Amelia!”

We’re excited to add White/Mint Technique to our weekly schedule! Designed specifically for dancers on our White & Mint competitive teams who are looking to add additional technique training to their week.

Dancers will work on a well-rounded mix of strength, flexibility, agility, and foundational dance skills to continue building their technique throughout the season. 💪🏼🩰

🚨NEW FACULTY🚨

As we approach the start of Season 7, we’d like to introduce you to our newest faculty!

Next up ➡️ 𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗜 𝗡𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗧𝗭𝗞𝗜

“Tori brings a strong background in both competitive dance and coaching to 218 Dance Project. She danced competitively for 14 years at a local studio, spending her senior year at 218 Dance Project during its inaugural season. She was also a member of her high school dance team for six years, serving as a three-time team captain and helping choreograph three routines that went on to compete at the State Tournament.

Tori continued her dance career as a member of the University of Minnesota Duluth Dance Team for one year before shifting her focus toward teaching and coaching. She has four years of varsity-level high school coaching experience, including two years as an assistant coach and two years as a head coach.

During her senior year at UMD, Tori completed an internship with 218 Dance Project, where she gained additional teaching experience by working with dancers of all ages in technique classes. She graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a bachelor’s degree and a minor in Applied Dance.

Tori is excited to return to 218 Dance Project and share her passion for dance, technique, and performance with the next generation of dancers.”

“Sophia Hohenstein has been dancing for 18 years and brings a lifelong passion for dance to 218 Dance Project. She is currently a student at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where she is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Early Childhood Studies.

Sophia grew up training and competing in studio dance and is a proud graduate of Northern Force Dance Company. She is now a member of the UMD Dance Team and is beginning her second year with the program.

In addition to her extensive experience as a dancer, Sophia has been teaching dance for the past nine years. She is excited to continue sharing her love of dance with students and looks forward to being part of the 218 Dance Project community!”
