Seven Pines Riding

Yesterday was weiner cleaner day for all the boys in our crew! Sheath Cleaning is such an important grooming practice for our guys to both keep them feeling fresh and catch any changes before they become big problems, especially as our guys get older. We love K.B.'s Mobile Sheath Cleaning for her ability to get even the most difficult horses done safely without sedation, though I've found that our guys catch on fast and she usually becomes their favorite person ever by visit number 3! We recommend semi-annual appointments for most horses to keep them clean without upsetting their skin's delicate microbiome, but always consult your vet for individual recommendations for your particular horse.

She'll be in our area the 15th! Reach out to her directly if you want to hop on our trip!

Good morning, everyone, and Happy Fall! My schedule has been pretty full, but I finally have time to sit this morning and post a schedule. Thank you for being patient. It’s been a hard few weeks at the farm, but things are starting to fall into place, once again. I hope you have all been well and safe.

First and foremost, I have decided to EXTEND my MICHIGAN trip and I have availability October 13th and 14th. October 13th I will be on the WEST side of the state. The 14th I have relatively open availability.

The only other free days I have left in October are the 21st and 22nd.

November is currently filling, so if you’re interested in getting on the schedule, before the snow flies, now is your chance.

Thank you for your support and continued patronage, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Another fair week in the books and a whole lot more ribbons to add to some kiddos walls! I swear, trying to get this group photo every year is like wrangling drunk cats, but in a fun way!

Our Walk Trotters:
Emma Protzman and Wishful Thinking "Tilly"
Taylor Holdread and LL Butler's Premier "Butler"
Evan Johnson and Cowboy and Julie
Lili Klotz and Elliott

Our Junior:
Alice Sonner and Enduring Wezsh "Wooshy"

Our Seniors:
Bria Johnson and Mighty Expensive "Tex" and Harold
Adalynne Tidwell and Third Times The Charm "Zeke"
Lyla Maust and Imagining Miracles "Poncho"
Addison Gunter and Yellowhawk

Fair is always puts our horses and riders to the test- it's early mornings, late nights, hot days, classes that don't go the way you want them to, calls you may not appreciate, and also all your training paying off. Nailing that lead change when it matters. Surprise victories when clean and accurate patterns beat the "fancy" one with errors. These kids work hard and it shows in their relationship with their ponies.

I have two rules for my 4h kiddos- Be nice to your horse and don't be an as***le to your parents. Simple, but definitely a high bar and not only did these kiddos knock that goal out of the park, but they also had an absolute blast hanging out with their friends and chilling with their horses. I couldn't be more proud of this group of riders and their families! Great job guys!

My "elderly children" and their babies went on their first solo big girl adventure today in their own rig! Mallory Wood and Gwyneth Wood have been with me since the beginning and I couldn't be more proud of how competent and independent they are! Ribbons are wonderful but the end goal is always to create good horsemen that can do things by themselves and these lovely ladies are wonderful examples for the kiddos coming up. Way to go girls!

When you used to be wild and free out on the range but now your mom is a little girl that buys you a gummy bear hat to keep the bugs out of your cute little ears 😂

Ft. Tilly in her unicorn fly sheet chatting with Pumpkin in her race suit. They're really roughing it out there 🤣

Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms out there, but especially the horse moms! The world would not turn without the strong, gorgeous women making things happen and raising kind, capable kiddos!

Side note, I really gotta take more pictures with my mom 😅 I really had to dig for a good one!
