“You have to love to play golf.”

TCU Men’s Golf Head Coach Bill Allcorn explains one of the biggest differences between junior golf and college golf: the sheer amount of golf you play.

In college, you’re playing 18, putting in work before and after the round, and competing constantly. To thrive in that environment, you have to genuinely love playing the game.

Coach Allcorn will bring that perspective directly to junior golfers at the CGX Top25 DI Boys Exposure Camp (East), December 13–14.

“It’s called warm-up for a reason.”

USC Men’s Golf Head Coach Mark Hankins breaks down what really matters before you step onto the first tee: being physically ready, mentally prepared and confident in your game — regardless of what just happened on the range.

Junior golfers can experience this type of direct coaching and insight from College Coaches at the CGX Top25 DI Boys Exposure Camp (West), December 12–13 in Southern California.

Want to play more consistent golf? Get specific with your target.

Don’t aim at the entire fairway or green. Pick a tree, bunker edge, or small spot in the distance. Even if you miss, a precise target makes your intended result more likely.

At a College Golf Experience camp, you’ll learn strategies like this directly from College Coaches — while sharpening your course management, practice habits, and understanding of the collegiate game.

You can get massively better at golf without even picking up a club.

Why? Because great scoring isn’t only about hitting better shots. It’s about making better decisions.

Princeton Men’s Golf Head Coach Will Green explains that the difference between winning and losing often isn’t who hits it closest or makes the most birdies. It’s the player with the best strategy — the one who understands course management, chooses smarter targets and keeps bogeys and doubles off the scorecard.

PGA Tour players average roughly 3.8 birdies per round, compared with about 2.2 for scratch golfers. That difference alone doesn’t explain the gap in scoring. The best players separate themselves by understanding their dispersion patterns, hitting more greens and planning for the shots they might miss.

In the full video on Committed Golf, Coach Green breaks down what “good” actually looks like, how elite golfers manage risk and why smarter decisions — not perfect swings — are often the fastest path to lower scores.

What can a College Coach learn about you in one day?

According to Belmont Head Coach Daniel DeLuca, quite a bit.

CGX College Golf Performance Camps give coaches the opportunity to interact with players the same way they do with their own team — something a tournament simply can’t replicate.

College Cosches can watch a player shoot a score. At a CGX Prospect Camp, you can see everything that led to it.

Swarthmore Men’s Head Coach Tana Thomas explains why prospect camps provide something junior golf tournaments simply can’t: direct interaction, real-time feedback, and the opportunity for College Coaches to see how players think, respond, and carry themselves throughout a round.

From practice sessions and on-course coaching to conversations with players and parents, these experiences create a deeper understanding on both sides.

If you have 85 yards left, do you know exactly what swing to make?

Coach John Sjoberg explains how elite players build a wedge system that takes the guesswork out of scoring shots.

This is the type of game-improvement instruction College Coaches share with players at CGX camps and through Committed Golf.
