Yesterday, May 31, 2026, was a very special day for us. In honor of Seido reaching its 50th anniversary this year, the Elmsford Mayor gifted us an honorary street sign, “Seido Way,” by our Westchester dojo. The ceremony gave Kaicho the recognition he deserves - 50 years since founding a unique Japanese karate style that balances the training of the mind, body and spirit; and incorporates the principals that were taught and practiced by his parents. Seido Karate is more than just the techniques, but about being a better human being inside and outside the dojo. We are grateful for the community that Seido has grown to become, and are excited to make this momentous occasion another highlight for our big ZEN SHIN/50th Anniversary Celebration this year.

Warm greetings to start the holiday weekend…
Wishing everyone a happy and safe Memorial Day holiday. Osu.

This past Sunday the students organized a Dojo Clean-Up Day. Led by one of our instructors, Kyoshi Ed, students came to help clean the garden and the inside of the building. It was a BIG project (there was talk of a follow up clean-up day soon) and we are so grateful.

Continuing our big birthday week with happy birthday wishes to our Vice Chairman and Chief Instructor, Nidaime A. Nakamura! May you have continued happiness and good health for many years. Osu!

Due to the blizzard that will affect our area tonight through tomorrow, our dojo will be CLOSED tomorrow/Monday (2/23).

Our local mayor has declared a State of Emergency from 6pm tonight until 6pm Monday night (and may extend as needed). At this time, there is also a Travel Ban in Westchester County from 9pm tonight to 10am Monday morning (may get extended).
