Since some people aren’t fans of warnings, here’s another hit product from BK Racing! 😎

Our Loss of Water Pressure Warning Light Kit turns on when the cooling system drops pressure, giving the driver a clear warning.

If coolant drains away from the temperature sensor, your gauge can read low or stay near normal while the engine overheats. A pressure warning gives you another way to catch a problem without waiting for the temperature gauge to climb.

Running aftermarket retainers on your Ecotec? You need to see this. 👀

GM replaced the original rocker arms (12565203) with an updated design (12693909), and some aftermarket retainers don’t clear the newer rockers.

Just because your retainers worked with the old rockers doesn’t mean they’ll work with the new ones.

We took this into consideration when developing our BK Racing titanium retainers. They’ve been tested with the updated rockers and clear without any grinding or modifications.

If you’re upgrading your valve springs and retainers, make sure you’re checking that clearance. It’s an easy detail to overlook.

Our titanium retainers are available with our BK Racing 83 lb Ecotec valve springs. 💪🏻🏁

Ecotec Racers, How Much Warning Do You Get Before Something Goes Wrong?

We all know cylinder #3 can be a trouble spot on the GM Ecotec engines.

Our BK Racing Oil Temperature Warning Light Kit gives you an early warning right where it matters most, at the #3 oil gallery.

When oil temperature reaches approximately 240–250°F, the sensor activates a bright red warning light, giving you a chance to react before excessive heat leads to expensive engine damage.

No gauges to constantly watch. Just a simple warning light that gets your attention when it matters.

A $130 investment could save you thousands in damaged engine parts.

Here’s a good look at our BK Racing 83 lb Ecotec valve springs installed in a cylinder head! 💪🏻🏁

One thing we’ve always focused on with these springs is open pressure, not just the seat pressure number everyone likes to compare.

Our springs make approximately 230 lb of open pressure at .500” lift, with a 294 lb/in spring rate.

Why does that matter?

As RPM climbs, keeping the valves following the cam becomes more demanding. Having enough spring pressure helps prevent valve float and bounce, especially when you’re running more aggressive cam profiles.

We wanted a spring that could provide strong open pressure without having to run excessive seat pressure or convert everything over to a dual-spring setup.

83 lb on the seat, 230 lb open at .500”, and proven to 9,300 RPM in our tested Ecotec setup.

All while keeping the convenience of a drop-in single spring that works with factory retainers.

That’s exactly what we set out to build. 😎

Shown with our optional a titanium retainers and high lift spring seats and press on seals.

Another Ecotec head fitted with BK Racing intake and exhaust valves. 💪🏻

The latest intake testing showed +13 CFM at .100″ lift and +9 CFM at .200″ over stock valves, using the same head and test conditions.

21-4N stainless, nitrided after final machining, and built to use stock OEM three-groove locks.

Our new HiFlow Flat Chamber Face Ecotec valves come with two tip options: stock tip for standard cams, or extended tip for regrinds to correct rocker geometry!

Both use the stock OEM three-groove locks. No special keepers, and no head modifications beyond the normal valve job.

Choose the tip for your cam setup, check the geometry during assembly, and you’re good to go.

If you’re deleting the balance shafts, why leave the balance shaft sprockets behind?

The BK Racing Ecotec Balance Shaft Delete uses a shortened water pump chain, allowing the balance shafts and their sprockets to be completely removed while retaining the factory mechanical water pump.

Removing the balance shaft assembly reduces rotating mass and parasitic power loss, which becomes increasingly important as RPM climbs. It also removes unnecessary rotating components and potential failure points from a race engine.

Worried about vibration? We have not had customers report any noticeable increase in low-RPM vibration after removing the balance shafts.

Our outer sleeves properly block and redirect oil after the shafts are removed. Inner sleeves are also available as an optional add-on to block the internal oil passages without having to reposition the factory bearing races.

No balance shafts. No balance shaft sprockets. Shortened water pump chain. Less rotating mass.
