Throwback!! 11/23/13
So this picture represents the darkest day of my martial arts journey.
Only reason I was smiling was because I couldn’t feel my right leg. Turned out I tore everything!! LCL. PCL. MCL. Hamstring snapped in half and rolled up my leg like a window shade. Finished up with a transverse fracture of my shin bone. Instantly I knew this was BAD! All 10 years of martial arts gone in 10 seconds. I needed to get a cadaver ligament and a few screws, which are still in my knee.
My wife got the call as she was getting her hair dyed. Came to the hospital with a wet head and hair dye dripping off her towel. What a great day!! Hahahahaha
Here I am 7 years later and I’m back to running, hiking and biking and lifting weights. At the time I said a prayer that if I could just walk my dogs around the block I’d be happy forever. I was a madman about rehab. Ended up finishing 4 weeks ahead of schedule. I spent every second trying to get better. I pushed and pushed myself to get better. My hard work paid off!!
I’m a better trainer now than I was back then. I’m a better husband. Better dog parent. Pretty much everything is better. The reason is that when everything you love is taken away in an instant you can get more clarity as to what’s really important in your life. Once you figure out what steps are needed to get back to that place you put your head down and work your ass off like never before. To get to a better place you wanna go, you have to take steps you never taken before!! I lived it. I loved it. My hard work has paid off.
The point is...never quit. Life can change in 2 seconds. It’s what you do after the change that will shape the next phase of your life. #grateful #hardwork #martialarts #kravmaga #rehab #cadaver

Will 3rd time be a charm for Rizo? This is another repost for her, because I just don’t understand why this cutie hasn’t been adopted. She is so sweet with people and is always so happy. She will soon be out of time & is coming up on 3 months. Rizo needs a home!

Last post: I want to post Rizo again, because she’s been there for over 2 months. She’s a staff favorite and just loves people. I caught her almost kissing her neighbor while wagging her tail. A rescue plea went out for her recently, and she will likely be urgent soon. She is recommended to be the only dog, but I feel like she would be ok with some training. She just prefers people & is a lovable girl. Please contact the shelter if you can give her a home!

Last post: Another really sweet dog is Rizo. She is only 3, and she was also surrendered last month on 3/14. She is full of energy and is so friendly with people. She has the sweetest face and is in need of a good home ASAP. She is 73lbs, spayed and ready to go home pending an interview.
