Banded hurdle catches is one of my favorite drills because it does a great job of developing stability, first step explosiveness, and proper weight distribution.

This weekend Coach Zig had the opportunity to attend the **Washington Commanders Coaching Clinic** and sit in an environment built around high-level football knowledge, structure, detail, and development.
this wasn’t just a visit — it was confirmation.
The same principles that matter at the highest levels of football are the same principles we are building into **Tier1 Football Academy**:
**fundamentals, discipline, football IQ, position-specific detail, accountability, and competitive development.**
Our athletes deserve more than drills. They deserve coaching that teaches them *why* the game works, how to prepare, how to compete, and how to carry themselves like the next level is real.
At Tier1, we are not chasing hype. We are building habits, standards, and athletes who understand that development is a process.

We had Gannon University sophomore RB locked in and sharpening the details that separate “good athlete” from “game-ready back.”
Its not just about running through cones. It's about building the habits RB's need when the picture changes fast:
✅️ Feet under control.
✅️ Hips loose.
✅️ Pads low.
✅️ Ball secured.
✅️ Eyes up.
✅️ Explode out of every cut.
An elite RB has to press the line, make violent decisions, protect the football, and get north-south without wasting movement. That is what we train at Tier1.
Athletes MUST understand talent may get you noticed, but details keep you on the field. To be great you have to work the fundamentals most players get bored with.
At Tier1 Football Academy, we do not just train athletes to look good in drills.
We train them to become more prepared, more disciplined, and more dangerous on game day.
