THE SEASON IS NOT THE TIME TO STOP DEVELOPING. 🏈
One of the biggest mistakes I see athletes make is working all offseason to build strength, explosiveness and technique then completely shutting down individual development once the season starts.
By mid-to-late season, you can see it.
The athlete isn’t as explosive.
Movement gets slower.
Technique gets sloppy under fatigue.
Bad habits start replacing the details they spent months developing.
In-season training should NOT beat an athlete up. It should keep them sharp.
At Tier 1 Football Academy, the goal is to maintain strength, protect explosiveness, clean up technique and address what is actually showing up on game film.
And for high school athletes, understand this:
Recruiting is evaluation.
If your best football was in August but your speed, movement quality and technique are declining when coaches are watching your film later in the season, you’re showing them a weaker version of yourself.
The goal isn’t just to survive the season.
The goal is to keep developing through it.
That is how short-term performance becomes long-term development.

2026 PAFL 3A CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
We will travel to Akron, Ohio on August 29th to face off against the #3 Beaver County Artic Bengals in the PAFL 3A CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. Kickoff is set for 6pm at 309 Woolf Ave. Ellet, HS. Akron, OH. Admission is $10 with children 17 and under FREE!
The #3 Bengals (7-2-1NC league) have played well in the playoffs knocking off the defending 3A Champion #6 Columbus Fire in round one on the final play of the game 32-26, then the #2 Cleveland Broncos to advance to the 3A Championship Game.
The #5 Express (7-3 league, 10-4 overall) have been road warriors traveling to the #4 Steel City Bobcats (Pittsburgh) in round one. The Express earned a hard fought 20-15 victory before a unique overtime victory in Detroit against the #1 Michigan Hurricanes. With the game tied 14-14, the game went into overtime. Erie had the ball first in overtime and fumbled on their their possession. The Hurricanes would get the ball and throw a pick 6 interception which would have ended the game in Erie's favor, but it was blown dead. The game was headed to its second overtime and Erie had the ball when the officials called the game due to no visibility. (The field had no lights). Erie was awarded the victory as it is the home fields responsibility to provide lights per league rules.
These two teams met in pre season with the Bengals pulling away with a 33-20 victory at home.
The Bengals will be in all black uniforms. Erie will be in red jerseys and white pants.
This is most certainly going to be a game you do not want to miss. It all comes down to this, 60 minutes to play it and a lifetime to remember what you did! Will it be a memory worth remembering? Do we hate to lose more than we love to win???? We will find out on the 29th!
This will be the final game in PAFL history as the league is folding after this season.
