Beth, You Rock!

250 classes. That is not just a number. That is 250 mornings of choosing to show up, giving everything you had, and making this community better just by walking through that door.

Beth is one of the heartbeats of our 6 AM class. You know those mornings when the energy is low and everybody is just trying to survive the warmup? Beth is the one who flips it. A word, a laugh, a look that says let's go. That energy is contagious and this community feels it every single time.

And she is not just showing up. She is growing. Movements that used to be a challenge are starting to feel like second nature. She is putting in the work inside the gym and outside of it. Dialing in her nutrition, sharpening her technique, always looking for the next way to get better. That is what real commitment looks like.

Beth you are an inspiration to everyone around you and you do not even have to try. You just are. Here is to 250 more. We are so proud of you and we are not going anywhere.

250 Classes, Zero Excuses

Some people hit milestones. Others earn them.

Mike has absolutely earned this one.

Rain, snow, or shine, if it's a weekday morning, there's a good chance Mike is one of the first people walking through the door for the 6 AM class. While most people are still hitting snooze, he's already putting in the work.

What makes Mike's journey special is the simplicity of his goals. He doesn't chase perfection. He wants more energy, to feel good, and to be ready to do it all again tomorrow.

And that's exactly what consistency delivers.

The effort Mike puts into his workouts shows up everywhere else in life. Whether he's traveling the world, hopping on his motorcycle for an adventure, or taking on whatever comes next, he does it with confidence because he's built a body that's ready for the challenge.

That's what fitness is really about.

It's not just about what happens inside the gym. It's about making everything outside the gym easier.

🎉 250 Classes Strong! 🎉

A huge congratulations to Josh Tharp on reaching an incredible milestone—250 classes at Ground Zero!

What makes this accomplishment special isn't just the number. It's the consistency, commitment, and effort Josh has put in every time he walks through our doors. Whether he's had a long day as a band director, spent time with his family, or had a dozen other reasons to skip a workout, he continues to show up.

And it shows.

Josh is getting stronger, fitter, and more capable with every class. He's learned new skills, developed confidence in movements that once seemed challenging, and continues to move closer to his goals.

What I admire most is the example he's setting—not only for his family but for the students he leads every day. Josh demonstrates that fitness isn't punishment for something you ate or a chore you have to suffer through. It's an investment in yourself. The reward is a longer health span, an expanded lifespan, and the ability to keep showing up for the people who matter most.

Wrap your thumbs.

Here's the deal: when you wrap your thumb around the bar, your grip activates. Active grip means active lats. Your lats are the engine of the pull-up. No grip, no lats, no real strength being built.

The false grip (thumb off the bar) feels faster. It lets you cycle reps quicker, and yeah, you've seen Games athletes do it. It looks cool. It looks fast.

But here's what they don't show you: a lot of those athletes have a broken body by 35. Wrecked shoulders. Chronic elbow pain. Joints that quit early.

So ask yourself the real question.

Do you want to be 2 seconds faster in a workout nobody will remember next week?

Or do you want to move pain free into your 60s, 70s, and beyond?

We coach for the long game here. Mechanics first. Always. Speed is earned after the movement is right, never before.

Wrap your thumbs. Build the lats. Protect the body you have to live in for the next 40 years.
