Woolsey Wet Prairie Sanctuary never ceases to amaze in the beauty it exhibits full of vivid colors and a diverse array of species. Currently the ashy sunflowers, liatris, brown eyed susans, compass plant, and far too many more to list are in or very close to full bloom. The paths along the berms are freshly mowed and ready for everyone to come visit and witness the display first hand. Photos below captured by ECO, Inc. President Seth Pickens during a site visit on July 15, 2025.

We have been blessed the past couple of growing seasons at Woolsey Wet Prairie Sanctuary with the continued re-occurrence of Compass Plant in bloom at the site, but never in the numbers we have this year. On a recent site visit by ECO, Inc. President Seth Pickens, he was able to locate 10 different plants in bloom at various locations. The Liatris is very close to being in full bloom and will add some excellent color to the site as well. Seth was also able to locate over 25 individuals of Pink Milkwort, one of the rare tracking species growing at the site, at 2 separate locations.
