Due to popular demand, we’ve added even MORE classes to our Season 13 schedule to make room for our Tiny, Preschool & Mini dancers! 🎉

And now… we are officially OUT of room to add any more younger classes! 🙀 We can only stretch the schedule so far…we can’t have these little dancers at the studio past bedtime! 💤🩰

Several classes are already down to just 1–4 spots remaining, so if you’ve been thinking about joining us, now is the time!

We are beyond excited to kick off our 2026 OPDC Intensive TOMORROW with an amazing lineup of guest artists, along with classes from our very own Miss Taylor, Miss Kate & Miss Maggie C!

⏰ 4:30–8:15 PM
🩵 Ages 7+
🔥 3 classes each evening!

Dancers will get to train in Ballet, Pom Technique, Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Jumps/Leaps/Turns and more throughout the three days!

We cannot wait for our dancers to learn from so many talented teachers, be challenged, try new styles, and leave feeling INSPIRED! 🙌

We’re wrapping up our OPDC Intensive Guest Artist lineup with someone our dancers know and love! We are SO excited to welcome Byron back to OPDC next week! ✨

We are incredibly blessed to continue having Byron share his passion, energy, and expansive knowledge with our dancers. His love for inspiring dancers of all ages shines through every time he steps into the studio! 🩰

Byron will be teaching:
✨ Ballet Technique & Fundamentals
✨ Ballet Jumps, Leaps & Turns
✨ Lyrical

MEET BYRON ⬇️

Byron is originally from Columbia, South Carolina.
He received his first dance lesson under the guidance of Jessica Foxworth, and realized he had a passion for the art. He later was enrolled into Columbia Ballet in Columbia, South Carolina under a full scholarship to train in classical ballet and modern technique. At the age of 16, Byron relocated to Dillon, South Carolina where he began to train under the guidance of Sherrie Adams at Dance Dimensions. While dancing at Dance Dimension’s he was crowned Mr. Dance of South Carolina for the Southern Council of Dance masters. He then went on to be accepted into the Governor’s School of the Art’s in Greenville, South Carolina under full scholarship. In 2002 at the age of 20 he landed his first job as a professional dancer in Charlotte, North Carolina at Paramount Carowinds as a main stage dancer. In 2004 he was named America’s Mr. Dance and became a title holder and alumni for the Dance Machine organization. In 2006 he began a new journey as a dancer and aerialist for Celebrity cruise lines. He has been performing with this cruise line for 10 years and has decided that the time has come to close this chapter in his life of performing. Byron is now a full time student at Central Piedmont Mont Community College where he is studying to become a physical therapist’s assistant.

We are so excited to welcome Jaid Smith to OPDC for our Season 13 Summer Intensive! 🩵💜🖤

Jaid will be joining us Tuesday, August 18th to teach Contemporary, and we cannot wait for our dancers to experience her classes! With her focus on intention, artistry, athleticism, and vulnerability, we know your dancer will leave her classes feeling challenged, inspired, and ready to grow! 🤩

Jaid Smith is a professional contemporary dancer, choreographer, and dance educator based in Wilmington, NC, with over 15 years of experience in ballet, jazz, tap, musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary, and hiphop. Her journey began in competitive dance, where she won numerous awards and scholarships, and had the opportunity to learn from acclaimed dancers and choreographers in the industry including Molly Long and Comfort Fedoke. Currently, Jaid performs professionally with Jackson & Company, a contemporary ballet company in Wilmington, while continuing to teach and choreograph for dancers of all levels. At the heart of her teaching is the idea that great dancing is about more than just executing choreography. Her classes encourage students to take risks, move with intention, and find the balance between the athleticism and vulnerability that makes contemporary dance so powerful.

We are SO excited to welcome Daniel Browning BACK to OPDC for next week’s OPDC Intensive! 🩵💜🖤

Daniel will be bringing his inspiring, positive energy to the studio on Wednesday, August 19th for an evening of HIP HOP! 🔥 Your dancer is going to have so much fun while being challenged, inspired, and learning from Daniel’s incredible knowledge of his craft!

And now… get to know Daniel! 👇

Daniel Browning is an award-winning choreographer, performer, and educator with a passion for inspiring the next generation of dancers. His performance credits include appearances on the hit television shows So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with Myself, as well as work in film, television, music videos, and live productions. As a choreographer, Daniel has earned multiple national and regional titles, choreography awards, and recognition for his innovative and engaging teaching style.

As the founder of Dance 2 Inspire Convention, Daniel brings years of industry experience to the classroom, creating a positive environment where dancers are challenged to grow both technically and artistically. His commitment to using dance as a tool for encouragement and personal growth earned him a Cheer Choice Award, recognizing his impact in inspiring others through dance. Known for his high-energy classes, passion for mentorship, and dedication to excellence, Daniel continues to motivate dancers across the country to pursue their goals with confidence and purpose.
