The part of Windwalker that deserves a little more spotlight. 🤎

Long after the last lesson ends, our team is still working—finishing chores, caring for every animal, and making sure the farm is ready to do it all again tomorrow. 🌙🐴

So much of what makes this place special happens behind the scenes, and we couldn’t do any of it without this crew. So thankful for the people who show up and make it happen every single day. 🤎

It takes approximately 21 days for a chicken egg to become a fluffy little chick and a LOT happens before that shell cracks open!
🥚 Day 1 — Development begins
❤️ Day 2 — The tiny heart begins beating
🐥 Day 6 — A beak begins to form
🐾 Day 9 — Toes have formed
🪶 Day 12 — Down begins covering the body
🥚 Day 18 — The chick begins getting into position to hatch
🐣 Day 20 — Pipping can begin!
🐥 Day 21 — HATCH DAY!
During Farm school we’re bringing the science of the farm to life.
Our students will get to follow the incredible journey from egg to chick as we incubate and hatch eggs right here on the farm.
Because reading about life cycles is great…
but watching one happen right in front of you is something you’ll never forget. 🌱🐣

Meet Peanut
Peanut is a 10-year-old Kentucky Mountain Horse, raised right here at Windwalker Farms. She’s a wonderful teacher who is incredibly in-tune and responsive to her riders.
She neck reins like a dream and loves everything from a calm trail ride to an adventure climbing hills! 🌿⛰️

And of course, Peanut has a few quirks we love—she loves getting her mane braided, and when she’s napping, she has the droopiest lip! 😂❤️

We’re lucky to have this sweet girl as part of our lesson program!

Since 2019, we’ve had the privilege of watching Vita grow from a student into a pivotal part of the foundation of our lesson program.
What makes her journey so special is her willingness to embrace every horse, every lesson, and every opportunity to learn. She has simply trusted the process, stayed open-minded, and enjoyed the journey.
That mindset has helped shape the horsewoman she is today, and now, as an intern at Windwalker Farms, she gets to give back to the program that has helped shape her.
We are so grateful to have watched her journey from then to now—and we’re even more excited to see where she goes next.🤍

This month, we’re celebrating Eleanor Johnson-Coady! 🐴💛
Eleanor has shown incredible growth in her riding, horsemanship, confidence, and willingness to take on new challenges. From learning new skills to overcoming fears, she continues to prove that hard work and determination pay off.
Her positive attitude, love of a challenge, and dedication make her such a wonderful part of our Windwalker family. We’re so proud of how far she has come and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next!
