Fight Night approaches this Saturday for Henri

We can’t wait to watch Henri storm the cage again in an MMA bout for Total Fight Challenge! Lots of hard work went into this camp for Henri and he’s excited to showcase it all!

What a night we had in Lacrosse, Wisconsin for Oscars 3rd fight for LFA.

Oscar took on a very tough and experienced martial artist for a strikers delight match up. Once the fight started Oscar’s opponent took the center and was able to land a heavy right hand, Oscar was able to recover quickly and get back to work on the feet.

Both Oscar and his opprime threw heavy shots and exchanged in the clinch as well. Going into the 2nd round Oscar knew he needed to change course and take his opponent into deep waters. He did just that securing a takedown and finding a finish early in round 2.

Huge thank you to Tyler and all of the amazing training partners at Intercept MMA for the work put in this camp. It takes a solid team of people to come together to make wins like this happen so thank you to training partners, students, and friends and family for the support and help all camp.

Thank you as well to Jeremy and everyone at LFA for the amazing opportunities and platform for these fighters to compete on. We look forward to what is next for Oscar!

This past Sunday we had 2 warriors go to war at the Goebberts Farm in Pingrove, IL.

First to fight was Ernest who was making his amateur debut. Ernest put on an absolute dominate performance in every area the fight took place. Not only out striking his opponent but also showing his ever evolving game with takedowns and beautiful ground and pound. We look forward to having Ernest back in there again soon!

Caleb made his debut fight with us already having 6 fights under his belt. His opponent also a veteran of 6 fights came to scrap and it was a very high paced fight. Caleb was able to secure takedowns in every round and showed not only great control but beautiful striking on top. Although we didn’t get the decision win we thought we had, we are very grateful for the opportunity and the growth from this fight.

A huge thank you to Tyler and all of the amazing teammates at Intercept MMA that helped to prepare these athletes for battle.

Thank you to all of the friends and family for all of your support and coming out to cheer on these amazing athletes.

We just want to take a moment to say thank you to a couple of amazing coaches that have graced the mats of Intercept MMA. Both men will taking a leave of absence from the classes they taught and we will be missing them!

Dom has been such a pillar in the gym for not only the wrestling program, but also his contribution to the competition grappling competitors and the MMA competitors as well. Dom selflessly steps up and steps in whenever and wherever he was needed. We are truly thankful to have had him as our coach and wish him nothing but the best moving forward.

Sherwin graced the mats as our competition striking coach and made such an impact right away on the student base. His technique and his attention to detail for his students definitely elevated everyone to the next level. Sherwin was always ready and willing to help those around him and always put his students first. We truly hope to see him running classes again in the future after his upcoming adventure to Thailand!

Thank you to both Dom and Sherwin for all you do. Anna, Reagan, and I are extremely grateful.

What an amazing weekend in Iowa at the TBAs!
We had 4 competitors step into the ring for the first time this year and it was such an incredible experience!
Marilu put on an amazing performance and showed such growth in skill. Although the decision did not go her way we are so proud of the work she put in to prepare. We look forward to having her back again next week!
Tatsu came into this tournament with no competition experience at 67 years old and showed he was ready to fight! His opponent was 8 years younger with 13 fights (their match maker decided he should fight someone with 13 instead of 1 fight🧐) but that didn’t stop Tatsu from going in there and putting on a show!
Javier came in with no competition experience as well and was really eager to test himself and compete! His first fight he lost by split decision. His opponent was not able to fight in the championship round so Javier was able to compete for the championship but lost to a very tough opponent.
Astrid came in to the TBAs for her first time and made the absolute most of it. Astrid kept a very positive the entire week and took that positive energy into the championship match. She lost a decision but never quit or gave up on herself.
We are so extremely proud of these competitors and absolute warriors. They represented themselves and the gym with the upmost respect and class.
Thank you to coach Sherwin to preparing the fighters and getting them prepped and ready for battle the entire week! Thank you to coach Rick and coach Tyler for their help in the corners and supporting our fighters all week. Thank you to Anna and Reagan for all their help all week to support the fighters and help with corner work as well!
We truly can’t wait to be back again next year! Thank you to all of the friends and family that supported the fighters all week and to all of the students that helped in preparation.
