Our morning welcome committee works for cuddles. 🐾💛🚌

While we wait for the school bus, George, Freya, and Darla, help us sneak in a few peaceful moments and plenty of affection. Then our riders arrive, and it’s time for greetings and an es**rt into the barn!

At Hugs, the love starts before the ride. ❤️🐴

See all the big smiles during Hugs first therapeutic riding session of the new school year for Bridget Wheeler’s class! Who do you think had more fun, the kids or the volunteers?

Happy Father’s Day to the dads who cheer from the sidelines, walk beside the horse, encourage new adventures, and celebrate every success, large and small.

To the dads who volunteer at HUGS, thank you for making a difference through your care, patience, strength, humor, and unwavering support.

We’re honored to know so many wonderful fathers through HUGS and wish you a day filled with love and appreciation. ❤️

🐴❤️ Happy Juneteenth! ❤️🐴

Today we celebrate freedom, hope, and the opportunity for everyone to learn, grow, and shine.

At HUGS, we’re marking the day with a little horse-powered fun as our riders enjoy Fossil and Dusty, our mechanical horses. Whether they’re riding or “racing,” the smiles say it all!

We’re grateful for a community where everyone is welcomed, encouraged, and given the chance to experience joy, confidence, and connection.

Wishing you a meaningful and joyful Juneteenth.

Surprise at the barn! 💙🐴

Missy is the mama of our sweet Hugs horse, Ava — and Rona and Stephanie have admired Missy for years.

When Missy’s owner offered her to Rona, Rona jumped at the chance, knowing Missy’s golden disposition would be perfect for HUGS. Her owner was sure Missy was not bred when she came to the barn 8 or 9 months ago.

Fast forward to two weeks ago. When a suspiciously round Missy started showing the telltale signs of imminent delivery, a vet check confirmed what Rona and Stephanie already figured.

Last night around 10:00, our unexpected little c**t made his grand entrance.

Welcome to the world, Tonka Toy. You are already loved!

Now we just have to find out who your daddy is. 💙

We’re honored to have partnered with Hugs for Horses for this year’s Palmetto Giving Day 💙

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, an amazing $59,000 was raised for Hugs for Horses, which helps provide therapeutic horseback riding programs at no cost to children and adults with special needs.

We were proud to donate a complimentary 2-night stay at Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort — and congratulations to Mark, our giveaway winner! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared, and supported this meaningful cause. We’re grateful to be part of a community that continues to make a difference. 🐴✨

Hugs is so much more than a horseback riding experience. It’s the whole barn magic. 🐴✨

Chickens, guineas, ducks, baby animals, fresh air, nature’s music, dogs, dirt, peace, freedom… and a place where our riders can breathe, belong, and just be.

And then there’s George — our big, fluffy, gentle, loving Great Pyrenees barn dog — watching over our riders as they get off the school bus like it’s his most important job in the world. 🐾💛

George is definitely a keeper.
