Most people think speed is just about running more. Itās not.
Speed comes down to one thing - how much force you can put into the ground and how fast you can do it. Thatās it. More
force + less time = faster athlete.
Thatās why we train box jumps, lateral agility, and single-leg power. Every one of those movements is teaching the body to produce force quickly. And hereās the thing most people miss - you donāt run on two legs. You run on one leg at a time. So if youāre not training single-leg
explosiveness, youāre leaving speed on the table.

Seven years ago today, the Chicago Bears called my name.
I remember sitting there thinking about every single person who poured into me to get to that moment. My coaches, my family, the people who pushed me on days I didnāt want to be pushed.
I donāt take that lightly. And itās a big reason why I care so much about the kids we get to work with at D1. I know what it meant to have people genuinely invested in me and I want to be that for them.
If your kid is training with us, just know we see them. Weāre rooting for them. š»
Resisted sprints = faster athletes. Hereās why.
When you sprint against resistance, your body recruits more muscle fibers than a normal sprint. More fibers = more power output.
Remove the resistance and your nervous system is primed to fire harder, faster, and more explosively than before.
Itās called post-activation potentiation. And it works.

This is what 7-11 year olds learning to be athletes looks like.
No yelling. No pressure. Just good coaching, fun competition, and a whole lot of energy. Our Rookie program builds coordination, movement foundations, and the kind of confidence that follows them into every sport and every classroom.
They think theyāre just having fun. Theyāre actually building the athletic base that pays off for the next 10 years.
D1 Val Vista Rookies train after school and at 1:30pm for homeschool families. Ages 7 to 11.
Top speed isnāt just for game day. Itās built right here.
Sprint work on the treadmill is one of the best ways to develop real speed in a controlled environment. Coaches can track pace, push limits safely, and make sure every rep counts.
