Director of Athletics Bill Chaves inked to extension through 2028-29 - University of North Dakota Athletics GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota President Dr. Andy Armacost announced on Monday, June 29, 2026 that Director of Athletics Bill Chaves has received a contract extension through the 2028-29 season.

We are paying it forward with support from Bell Bank. Through this collaboration, North Dakota student-athletes will award a $1,000 donation to an org of their choice!

North Dakota Men's Hockey has selected Grand Forks Youth Hockey Association as their Bell Bank Pay it Forward recipient. The team hosts annual youth skates with Grand Forks Youth Hockey Association and has volunteered nearly 300 total hours of community service during the 2025-26 academic year.
