Maggie brings a passion for running, athlete development, and mentorship to her role as Head Cross Country Coach at Grand Rapids Catholic Central.

Maggie competed as a member of the Grand Valley State University cross country program, the 2023 NCAA Division II National Champions. Prior to joining Catholic Central, Maggie gained coaching experience at Jenison, where she went to high school.

Her experience as a coach and collegiate athlete has shaped her appreciation for hard work, discipline, teamwork, and the positive impact athletics can have on young people. She has developed a coaching philosophy centered on building confidence, resilience, personal growth, and a lifelong love for the sport.

Maggie looks forward to translating her personal passion for running into being a coach and mentor for student-athletes. She plans to foster a positive team culture while helping athletes reach their full potential as competitors, teammates, and individuals.

🎾 Open Court Opportunities (K-12)

Our new Boys Varsity Coach Malloy invites all current and prospective tennis players in grades K-12 to join him on the courts this summer.

Open Court Dates for boys AND girls:
June 16, 18, 23, and 25
August 4 and 6
Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: CAT Tennis Courts

Boys and girls interested in learning more about the tennis program are encouraged to stop by and play.

Boys Summer Tennis Camps (Incoming Grades 7-12)

Coach Malloy will also be offering a series of summer tennis camps designed for incoming 7th-12th grade boys.

🎾 Catholic Central Names Cullen Malloy as Head Varsity Boys Tennis Coach

Please join us in welcoming Cullen Malloy as the new Head Coach of the Catholic Central Boys Tennis program!

Cullen is a dedicated coach, husband, and father of three who is passionate about helping young athletes grow both on and off the court. With years of coaching and competitive tennis experience, he is committed to developing strong fundamentals while instilling character, discipline, sportsmanship, and a lifelong love of the game.

A resident of Spring Lake, Cullen and his family are active members of their community. His coaching philosophy aligns closely with our Catholic mission, emphasizing integrity, accountability, perseverance, and service to others.

We are excited for the future of Cougar Tennis under Coach Malloy's leadership and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our student-athletes.

We are excited to announce that Daimond Dixon has joined Catholic Central as our new Strength & Conditioning Coordinator.

Daimond brings more than 30 years of experience as a sports performance coach and leadership mentor, developing athletes at the youth, high school, collegiate, and professional levels. He is the owner of Alpha Human Performance and most recently served as Director of Sports Performance at Grand Rapids Christian Schools, where he spent 16 years overseeing athletic development programs and helping create one of the area's first school-based Leadership-Based Sports Performance classes.

A graduate of Grand Rapids Central High School, Daimond went on to play football at both Grand Valley State University and the University of Miami, where he was a member of the 1991 National Championship team.

Throughout his career, Daimond has been passionate about using athletics and physical education to teach leadership, discipline, character, and personal growth. Whether working with competitive athletes or students in the classroom, he strives to instill a lifelong appreciation for health, wellness, and physical activity - values that align closely with our mission of forming students in mind, body, and spirit.

"I am excited by the opportunity to invest in the lives of the young people at Grand Rapids Catholic Central and to empower them to enhance their God-given talents. Being from Grand Rapids, I recognize the rich tradition of excellence, and I’m looking to make a positive impact in the Catholic Central Community," says Daimond.

⛳️ Good luck to our Boys Golf Team as they tee it up at the Division 2 State Finals this Friday and Saturday at The Meadows at GVSU!

The Lady Cougars have officially recorded the highest finish in program history, earning State Runner-Up honors at the State Finals!

Leading the way, Freshman Naomi Tamae captured the Flight Championship at 3 Singles, becoming the second Catholic Central girls tennis player to win a flight title at the state meet!

πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈNEW SCHOOL RECORD ALERT!

Mitchell Dunlap has broken a 43-year-old school record in the 3200m!

The previous record of 9:12.5, set by Jeff Costello in 1983, stood for over four decades. Last Saturday, at Distance Night Under the Lights at Houseman Field, Mitchell set the new mark with an incredible time of 9:10.91!

Mitchell’s outstanding season continues as he heads to the State Finals this weekend at Hamilton High School, competing in both the 1600m and 3200m.

Congratulations, Mitchell, and good luck at State!

The CC boys varsity golf team won the OK White Conference Championship after Conference Finals on May 21st at Thornapple Pointe Golf Course. Sophomore Tommy Preston earned medalist honors after a one hole playoff victory over Forest Hill Eastern's Jack Cavanaugh. Tommy shot an even par 72 and Senior Charlie Maczka tied for 5th after carding a 74. Freshman Ben Maczka earned a top 10 finish with a 78. Sophomore Brady Berkemeier (83), Junior Noah Onstott (84) and Senior Tommy Jandernoa (88) rounded out the day's scoring that yielded the team a 2nd place finish and enough to win the Conference title over Grand Rapids Christian.

Tommy Preston earned All Conference honors by finishing with the conference's lowest scoring average of 35.7. Charlie Maczka also earned All Conference with a season average of 38.8, while Brady Berkemeier was Honorable Mention at 39.1.

The team heads to Big Rapids on Tuesday, May 26th for MHSAA Regionals at Ferris State University's Katke Golf Course. The top 3 teams will advance to the State Finals the following weekend, June 5th and 6th, at The Meadows Golf Course at Grand Valley State University.

GOOD LUCK to the boys as they look to round out the spring golf season with strong finishes at both Regionals and Finals! GO COUGARS!!!
