Reminder that every Wednesday in August we have “Walk-Up Wednesdays” at Southern Little League for Minors & Majors ages kids. Please register via link ahead so we can plan pizza for the players.

Had a GREAT turnout last week with 30+ players, across 2x fields, of all ages having an amazing time coaching their own games, maintaining their own rules, and ensuring everybody got chances at whatever positions they wanted to try.

No adults involved except an ump for balls/strikes & some spotters for safety, otherwise KIDS RULE!

2026 Walk-Up Wednesdays
"Walk-Up Wednesdays" will take place each Wednesday in August ( 5, 12, 19, 26) from 7:30p - 9:30p.

Looking for "S'More" Baseball this summer? Southern's “Sandlot Style” kid-led baseball game series it set up purely for the fun of the game.

Open to Minors & Majors aged players (8u-12u) from Spring season.

The cost is $5 / week ($20 for full session) to cover registration and pizza for the kids. To avoid auto-added service fee in the system, please play to pay via SLL Paypal link or bring cash the day of the event

Meet at the Concession Stand area each week to divide into teams & head to fields.

Adult Southern LL Coaches will be present to facilitate a fun event and to Ump, but otherwise this is an opportunity for kids to be allowed to coach the bases, pick positions, and play at their own pace. If we have several players who pitch/catch we will try to rotate every inning.

All standard little league safety & equipment rules still apply (USA bats, Bring batting helmets, Catchers gear if appropriate, etc…)

Hey Southern Little League - Have you signed up yet for Minors Softball yet this fall? We’ve scheduled a bunch of great opportunities to get some hits, runs, & high-five’s in this “Fall Ball” season by playing 5x weeks of double-headers throughout Grand Rapids metro area. Really excited for the continued evolution of the Softball Program at Southern & want to ensure we have enough spots for everyone that’s interested.

Seniors lost two close games 9-8 and 10-8 in Peru and are headed home

Southern Little League Baseball Minors (Navy) All Stars took runner-up in the District 9 Michigan Little League tournament Sunday, falling just short against a strong Rockford team in the championship. They battled through a double-header against tough Caledonia & Western LL teams on Saturday, all with only 9 players. They all played so much with heart, hustle, class, & truly represented Southern well.

Very proud of this crew & soo excited for their many years of playing Little League @ Southern that lay ahead.

Southern Little League Baseball Minors (Navy) All Stars earned runner-up in the District 9 Michigan Little League tournament Sunday, losing to a talented Rockford team in the championship. SLL took on the tough task of battling through a double-header on Saturday, defeating Caledonia & Western LL teams all with only 9 players. They played with heart, hustle, class, & truly represented Southern well.

Very proud of this crew & excited to watch their journey over the many years of Little League ahead with Southern. Great job players (& coaches)!
