Your core is NOT supposed to be a shell. 🐢 It is a bundle of muscle fibres that needs education, and to move with intention!

Pull in with a deeper and more educated intention not bulging your muscle out.

Somewhere along the way, “engage your core” became:

❌ Suck your stomach as much as possible
❌ Brace as hard as possible
❌ Hold with with tension

But stability does not always mean stiffness.

Your core needs to adapt—to movement, load, breathing, rotation, and life. Intention behind the movement.

A strong body isn’t one that is constantly rigid. It is stability with flexibility.

It’s one that can move, adapt, stabilize, and release.

✨ Move with intention not tension . Breathe. Feel. Adapt.

Your Lats Are More Than “Back Muscles” 💪🔥

Think you’re just moving your arms? Think again. 👀

Your **latissimus dorsi—the lats—**are HUGE players in how you organize your shoulders, ribs, spine, and whole body.

In this video, I’m using the Pilates ring/circle as a prop to help create a little more awareness and feedback.

My cue?

“Don’t just squeeze the ring. Feel and move your back.”

I want you to imagine your lats wrapping around you like a backpack and connecting your arms into your trunk and waist. Then gently engage them without gripping your neck or hiking your shoulders.

The ring gives the brain something to feel and something to respond to—a simple prop that can make an invisible connection much easier to find.

✨ Less “muscle it.” More “feel it.”
✨ Less tension. More connection.
✨ Move with your brain—not just your muscles. Move your lat muscles to feel the ring, not just your arms.

Because Pilates isn’t just about making a movement look right.

It’s about teaching your body how to feel and organize the movement from the inside out.

Your body doesn’t move in one plane—so why should rehabilitation?

Two things I believe strongly:

1. Pilates is an intelligent system for rehabilitation.
The body is interconnected. Muscles, joints, fascia, balance, coordination, and the nervous system all work together. Pilates gives us a way to progressively restore that relationship—not simply treat the injured area.

2. We need to move our patients in ALL planes of movement.
Life doesn’t happen only forward and backward. We rotate, reach, bend, shift, push, pull, balance, and react.

When we gradually expose the body to varied, controlled movement, we aren’t just rehabilitating an injury—we’re building capacity and resilience to help prevent the next one.

Don’t just rehab the injury.
Teach the whole body how to move again.

Absolutely. I’d frame it around two simple principles: the body is designed for movement, and rehabilitation should prepare the body for real life, not just one isolated position.

🌿Where hands-on Osteopathy meets Pilates movement! ✨
The father of osteopathy, Andrew Taylor Still, taught that “structure governs function” – proper alignment allows the body to function optimally and heal naturally.

✨We use skilled hands on therapy to restore that structure.

🤸🏽‍♀️Then, through Pilates – the perfect blend of strength, with stretch, and control (as passed down by - Romana Kryzanowska) – we build lasting resilience.

💫“Change happens through movement and movement heals.” – Joseph Pilates

☀️As winter chills roll in, let’s soak up these last golden rays—because recent studies 📰 scream one thing: 👉real sun is your ultimate Vitamin D powerhouse for immunity, mood, and even slowing aging by protecting telomeres.
🍁But with November’s weak sunlight, deficiency risks skyrocket (hello, modern indoor life!), leaving us vulnerable to blues and bugs.
📄Pro tip from the science: Bundle up, step out for 10-20 mins of midday sun when you can—it’s free medicine. 🌞.
😎Otherwise, double (or triple!) your D intake via supp to hit optimal levels and crush winter woes. ☀️❄️
