Got a teen or tween who’s ready to start babysitting, or maybe just wants to feel more confident watching younger siblings?
The Grants Pass Family YMCA is bringing back their Safe Sitter® Classes this August! It’s super hands-on and covers all the big stuff: CPR certification, safety skills, emergency prep, and even fun games to keep kids entertained.
It's a 2-part course designed for ages 11–16:
Part 1: August 8
Part 2: August 15
It’s such a great way for them to build responsibility (and earn a little spending money with total peace of mind for parents!).

Safe Sitter is back at the Grants Pass Family YMCA, and it just got better!
If you have a pre-teen or teen who's looking to start babysitting, this is hands-down the best way to get them ready. We’ve expanded our Safe Sitter® program to include official CPR certification, giving them the confidence and real-world skills they need to step into any babysitting job.
It’s a fun, 2-part course designed for ages 11–16 that goes far beyond basic instruction. They’ll get hands-on manikin practice, dive into interactive role-playing, and learn alongside other teens in small group games.
Part 1 kicks off on August 8, followed by Part 2 on August 15.
Spot are limited, so head over to grantspassymca.org/programs/youth-programs to sign them up today.
