✨CONGRATULATIONS, to VCF owner Carrie on 1000 Classes! ✨
1. You hit 1,000 [Core] classes! How do you feel?
As the owner, I feel like this should have happened a long time ago! But I’m also learning to give myself grace and remember that my journey is just that…mine. I’m proud of this milestone and grateful for every class, every trainer and our clients that’s been alongside me.
2. Why do you keep showing up?
I am constantly inspired by our clients. They are what push me to keep showing up. Watching them find success, not just physically, but mentally, is incredibly rewarding. Seeing the changes in their confidence and in the way they show up for themselves is truly what keeps me going.
It’s why I started this business over 12 years ago: to help people discover their strength, and see who they are capable of becoming.
3. Does Lagree Fitness still challenge you today?
I tell our clients all the time, “The stronger you get, the harder it gets.” And it couldn’t be more true. As I’ve gotten older and my body has changed…as it was created to do! I’ve learned that being strong doesn’t mean I have to do everything perfectly or exactly the way I once did. I feel stronger than ever, but I’ve also learned to listen to my body and know that if I need to modify or edit, that’s okay. There is strength in knowing your body, honoring where you are, and continuing to challenge yourself in a way that feels right for you.
4. What is your advice to anyone who tries a class for the first time?
You aren’t going to be good at first… welcome to Lagree. 😜 You’re going to struggle, and honestly, that’s even better.
Give yourself permission to be a beginner. I promise that if you stick with it, you will discover more about your own strength than you ever thought possible. I know you have been through harder things. This is just a reminder that you are strong, capable, and worth showing up for.
5. Do you do other workouts alongside VCF?
I love to walk—well, walk and talk with friends! There’s something about being outside, moving my body and catching up with people I love.
6. What’s your favorite Lagree move?
It’s hard to pick one but I do love the ole’ Donkey Kick!
