July taught me to chill out. To be more intentional about my goals and what I really want.
Although I didn’t hit my 80 mile walking goal this month, I did walk my longest distance yet. I’m proud of my 9 mile walk record.
I knew pretty early in the month that I wasn’t going to hit my goal and for the first time, I didn’t care.
The heat, my energy, and a very busy social month took priority. I needed time to figure out what I really wanted to aim at.
Giving myself that time allowed for reflection, honesty, and a fresh new plan.
August will be the start of shifting my focus to more lower body strength. Training legs/glutes twice a week instead of my previous 1x.
I’ve been lazy on hitting my protein goals consistently so I’ve started tracking my macros again. For me, protein is the easiest one to be under eating and not even know.
I will always walk and keep that apart of my routines but I will no longer be setting these high mileage goals. Not during this time at least.
July was a great month and taught me a lot but I am excited to move forward with a different direction and focus.

I finally worked up the courage to take my calisthenics practice to the outdoors.🤩🌞
This covered playground/park is perfect for calisthenics and within walking distance from my house. It felt good to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone.
I started training calisthenics in June of 2025.
If you had asked me a year ago why I started, I would have told you I was in a very dark, lonely, and sad place emotionally. Moving through a lot of grief, not knowing what was next, and feeling like I had no footing.
And at the time, that felt very true to me.
I would have told you that the small progress I was feeling in my calisthenics training somehow gave me hope that things would get better. A physical expression of the hope I needed.
But now, a year later, my perspective is very different.
It was actually the start of a beautiful new chapter of my life. A chapter that was giving me the opportunity to walk into the best version of myself.
Expecting more for myself, in every way.
Physically.
Emotionally.
Mentally.
Professionally.
Personally.
I was no longer playing small, making myself smaller, accepting less than I deserve, and officially DONE ignoring my instincts.
It was the start of me being my authentic self. Not caring what anyone thought.
The process wasn’t rainbows and sunshine like social media wants you to believe personal development is like.
It was uncomfortable, unfamiliar, and honestly… just exhausting at times.
As the months passed I started to unlock more skills physically. But what I was actually unlocking myself from was old patterns, old versions of myself, and old mental programming.
What seemed like such a dark place was actually the birth of a better version of myself.
I’m grateful for what calisthenics has done for me not just physically but more importantly mentally and emotionally.
The mind and body are connected, there is no separation. As above, so below.
Happy 1 year to my journey with calisthenics.
🥹♥️🤩💪🏻
Since I overachieved during the month of May I decided to up the goal by 15 miles.
Wish me luck, 75 miles in June.🔥🥵☀️🚶🏼♀️
I’m adding 10 min of jump roping daily to the month’s goals as well as more awareness of my self talk.
I can be incredibly hard on myself at times. Feeling like I’m not pushing myself enough, feeling like I’m not achieving enough, or that I’m falling behind.
I was struggling with that in May a lot more than I would like so I’m making an effort to practice more encouraging supportive self talk.
The unfurling of a new leaf is still magical to me. It’s the little things.😉It reminds me to be patient with myself. Big things start small, growth takes time, trust the process, and enjoy the beauty. I took a video to capture the process of one of my favorite plants in the studio. What started out as a thin asparagus like roll up has turned into a gorgeous big alocasia leaf. This process never seems to get old, I love it. These small moments in sessions really mean a lot to me. There are too many to list but each and everyone hits my heart the same. Forever grateful.
