Some nights remind you exactly why we fight. ❤️
Jean Morrell, a breast cancer survivor and past chairman of the Cattle Baron’s Ball, continues to pour her heart into the American Cancer Society, honoring her late husband Pete’s memory and answering what she calls her “calling and responsibility” to help others and raise money for research. That purpose was felt throughout the Northern Colorado Cattle Barons Ball last night.
As I shared my story of losing my Dad nine years ago to the nastiest bull he ever drew—cancer—I connected with Karrie and Dusty Thomas of DT Bar Welding, who have recently experienced that same heartbreak. Later, after they won an Easton Corbin meet & greet and signed guitar in the live auction, auctioneer John Korrey announced they were giving the guitar to me in my Dad’s memory.
I was speechless. Through our losses, a room full of survivors, volunteers, sponsors and generous hearts reminded me that last night, we won against cancer.🤍
