🌿 Practice Friday 🌿

Sometimes the most meaningful yoga practice isn’t a long class or a perfect pose.

Sometimes it’s simply creating enough quiet to hear what you truly need.

As we finish our week studying Satya, I’ve been reminded that truthfulness starts with listening.

Before you move on with your day, pause for one slow breath and ask yourself:

✨ What do I need today? ✨

Tomorrow I’ll be spending the day with our Yoga Teacher Training students, and I’m looking forward to sharing a few behind-the-scenes moments from our journey together.

🌿 Summer Yoga Teacher Training Series 🌿

This week in our Yoga Teacher Training, we’re exploring Satya, the yogic principle of truthfulness.

One of the things I love most about yoga is that the lessons don’t stay on the mat.

As we’ve been studying the spine and physical alignment, it’s been a reminder that we can also seek alignment in our everyday lives.

Do our thoughts, words, and actions reflect what we truly value?

When they do, life often feels more peaceful, purposeful, and authentic.

Yoga isn’t about perfection. It’s about becoming more aware so we can make choices that align with who we are and who we’re becoming.

✨ Take a quiet moment today and ask yourself:

Where in my life could I create a little more alignment?

I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

🌿 Summer Yoga Teacher Training Series 🌿

One of the beautiful things about yoga philosophy is that these teachings aren’t just for yoga teachers.

They’re for all of us.

This week we’re exploring Satya, the practice of truthfulness.

Not just truthfulness in our conversations with others, but truthfulness in our relationship with ourselves.

Many times we already know what we need to do.

We already know what needs attention.

We already know what isn’t aligned.

The challenge is having the courage to acknowledge it.

The good news is that yoga reminds us that truth and compassion can exist together.

We don’t have to judge ourselves.

We simply have to become aware.

✨ What truth have you been avoiding?

🌿 Practice Friday 🌿

This week we transitioned from Ahimsa (non-harming) to Satya (truthfulness) in Yoga Teacher Training.

Satya invites us to be honest—not just with others, but with ourselves.

Sometimes the truth is that we need more rest.

Sometimes the truth is that we’re ready for change.

Sometimes the truth is that we’ve been ignoring what our heart or our body has been trying to tell us.

Yoga gives us space to slow down long enough to listen.

Today, take a moment to pause and ask yourself:

✨ What truth do I need to honor today? ✨

🌿 Summer Yoga Teacher Training Series 🌿

One of the things we’ve been discussing in Yoga Teacher Training is Ahimsa, the practice of non-harming.

For me, that lesson has shown up in a very practical way this week.

After a busy weekend and some emotional exhaustion, I realized I needed more rest, more recovery, and a little more grace.

It’s easy to think our yoga practice has to happen at a certain time, in a certain place, or look a certain way.

But sometimes the practice is simply meeting yourself where you are.

This short practice was filmed while traveling in Michigan a few weeks back.

Not in a studio.
Not on a perfect schedule.
Just a few moments to pause, breathe, move, and reconnect.

And sometimes, that’s enough.

✨ Where can you give yourself a little more grace this week?

🌿 Summer Yoga Teacher Training Series 🌿

Tonight we’ll be wrapping up our exploration of Ahimsa and beginning our study of Satya, the yogic principle of truthfulness.

As I’ve reflected on Ahimsa this week, one lesson keeps coming up for me:

Sometimes the kindest thing we can do for ourselves is tell the truth.

The truth was that I was emotionally exhausted.

The truth was that I needed rest.

And the truth was that sleeping in was exactly what my body needed.

Yoga teaches us to listen to our bodies, but many of us are better at giving that advice than actually following it.

This week reminded me that rest is not something we have to earn.

Sometimes rest is the practice.

Sometimes rest is the medicine.

And sometimes rest is exactly what allows us to show up more fully for the people and activities we love.

✨ What has your body been asking for lately?

🌿 Behind the Scenes of Yoga Teacher Training 🌿

When people hear “Yoga Teacher Training,” they often imagine learning how to sequence classes and teach poses.

While those skills are important, teacher training is also a journey of self-discovery.

This week our students explored yoga philosophy, anatomy, meditation, and the rich history of yoga. More importantly, they practiced showing up with curiosity, honesty, and compassion.

One of the greatest gifts of teaching is witnessing those moments when students realize they are capable of more than they thought possible.

And the truth is, that journey doesn’t end when teacher training ends.

The best teachers remain lifelong students.

What is something you’re currently learning or exploring in your own life?

🌿 Practice Friday 🌿

This week in Yoga Teacher Training, we’ve been exploring Ahimsa, the practice of non-harming.

One of the lessons that keeps resurfacing is that many of us offer compassion freely to others while holding ourselves to impossible standards.

We think we should be further along.

We think we should know more.

We think we should do better.

But growth doesn’t require perfection.

It requires patience, practice, and a willingness to begin again.

Take a moment today to pause, breathe, and offer yourself the same kindness you would offer a good friend.

✨ You are learning.
✨ You are growing.
✨ You are enough.

Save this meditation for a moment when you need a little extra compassion.
