For horses, learning to jump requires lots of preparation! A great way to start building the foundation of jumping is lunging over ground poles and small cross rails. This gives the horse a safe space to feel their way around the jump and figure out the movement before needing to carry their rider over a fence as well💪

Extension of gaits is imperative in building up a horse’s stamina and coordination! Peep Deborah and Sunny getting those extended lope strides in over this past weekend💪

The majority of horses have 3 gaits: walk, trot/jog, and canter/lope. As our riders prepare to learn how to ride each of these gaits, our Unlimited Learning trainers are diligent in talking through the various movements and cues that go along with each gait.
