🦈 Shark Racing Weekend Recap | October 23–24
The Shark Racing team was back in action as Logan Schuchart Racing and the headed to Texarkana, Arkansas 67 Speedway of Texarkana for two nights of World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series competition.
Friday’s Jason Johnson Classic, Logan started fifth and lead laps 27–34. With five laps to go, a spinning #40 of Howard Moore forced Logan to take evasive action. Had he stopped, he would NOT have been able to regain his position. Logan was unable to avoid Moore’s car, relinquished the lead, and ultimately finished 17th.
On Saturday, Logan started sixth in the Short Track Nationals and was running fifth when contact from the #18 of Sheldon Haudenschild on lap 31 damaged the car, broke the front axle, and ended his race. He finished 20th after completing 30 of 40 laps.
Despite the frustrating finishes, Logan showed speed on both nights. With only the World Finals remaining, he sits fifth in the World of Outlaws championship standings.
Back in Pennsylvania, Cameron Smith delivered a strong run for Jacob Allen Racing, bringing the home 7th in Saturday’s Britton Finkenbinder Memorial at BAPS Motor Speedway. Cameron was the fastest qualifier and finished third in Heat 1. He charged forward from his 10th-place starting spot to gain three positions and finish seventh overall.
After a weekend off, the Shark Racing tandem will head to Charlotte for World Finals, November 4–7! 🏁
