Sometimes the best product feedback arrives unsolicited.

Yosh Ohno bought a Specialized Turbo Vado SL 2 6.0 Carbon — $7,000, plus two extender batteries at $499 each — because he needed road time and was running out of patience.

It's smooth, stable, and comfortable in a way that makes you want to keep riding. I loaded mine up with most of the options — rearview mirrors, front and rear LED lights, padded seat and backrest, exit assist bars, ergonomic handrests, fenders, the rear rack, and the adjustable headrest. Every one of them pulls its weight. The padded seat alone is worth it on the longer rides. And yes — I strap my surfboard right on top and head to the beach.
