West Henderson Wrestling

Long 3 days and lots of wrestling at the State tournament.

All of our wrestlers who qualified got at least a win in the tournament.

No placers this year on the men’s side but the wrestling from the Falcons was still top notch.

Ladies took the cake this weekend with a runner up and three 3rd place finishes as well as a very impressive 3rd is 5A finish. As well as overall 10th place finishes among ladies teams across ALL classifications in the state.

We are proud to have these athletes and proud to call them Falcons. Good work everyone. We are all proud of you

After a very long week and lots of wrestling the State tournament is set and ready to go. After 2 days of wrestling we have 2 more state qualifiers. This time from the men’s team sophomore Collin Hunter and senior Tony Delgado. They will be heading to Greensboro this week to see if they can get their names out in the Wrestling Wall at West. Very good wrestling from all of our guys at regionals. 5A West was tough everyone gave their all

West Henderson Women’s Wrestling! WOW. We took our six girls to the 5A West regionals and qualified 5 for the state championship. Three girls in the finals and two girls in the consolation finals with our one wrestler, not making it losing in the blood round to some very stiff competition. These girls are extremely tough extremely talented and we are extremely proud. We took third place in the region and only three points behind number two with six wrestlers. Good job girls. And on top of that we added our first female wrestler to the 100 wins club. Congratulations Junior Sara Morgan West wrestling is proud of you.

Tony Delgado is the latest Falcon to eclipse the 100 win mark. AND a MOW award to go with it today. Great work Tony. Keep it up.

West wrestling and our families would like to say thank you to the family of John Clark for letting us spend the time we did with John. He was always a great joy to be close to and with that deviously funny grin he had, he always seamed make others around him happy. Coach you did great things for many of your athletes that are now doing great things of their own. Again on behalf of the West wrestling family we say thank you Coach. Job well done
