On the road again! We finally got our new truck ready to roll and left the small CO town where we enjoyed the summer. On to new adventures, new faces, new places.

We made it to Rock Springs, WY last night and are truckin' our way west today, So if you're in UT, ID, or OR keep your eyes peeled for us passing through :)

Our tiny house adventures have landed us in CO for the summer, but due to unfortunate mechanical issues with our truck, we are going to try to find our tiny house a new owner fairly quickly so that we can continue our family adventure west and invest in the materials needed to build the next tiny home.

A Yurtinyhouse adventure update! The tiny house in a home town. We made it safely to Oak Creek, CO, a cozy little town where Myria grew up. We were able to set up the Yurt at a local gathering/festival, and were even mentioned in the Steamboat Springs local newspaper! (See article and link below) The weather is perfect, the mountains are breathtaking, and the tiny house was a big hit!

A couple more weeks here and then we are off to explore the Pacific NW!

A snake in the grass! You learn something new everyday...I almost had a heart attack when I saw this guy crawl out of the water in a lake my kids were swimming in. Turns out there are no venomous water snakes in western Nebraska. This snake is a Northern Water Snake.

An early rise allowed for a beautiful dawn-kissed moon hanging over the tiny home in North Platte this morning. Now we are on the road again, headed to Cheyenne and beyond.

The adventure continues! We found ourselves a nice place to escape the record breaking temps yesterday at Pawnee State Recreation area outside of Lincoln, NE. A beautiful lake for swimming, a lovely campground, and lots of shade.

However, we woke this morning to a severe weather alert...golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. We gathered the kids and huddled together on the couch of the tiny home, listening to the hail pound down and the wind howl outside. Looking at the radar, it appeared the storm was placed just over us, clear to the east, clear to the west.

We we made it through though, and the tiny home didn't even shake or wobble in the wind! No hail damage, and we are back on the road. Headed west through Nebraska today and into Wyoming tomorrow.

We made it to our family farm in Illinois! The photo is from a delightful little campground outside Bloomington, IL, where we took a much needed break from driving and enjoyed a cool breeze and cooler temperatures than we had endured the day before.

Saturday we are off across the midwest. Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Colorado, here we come!

Adventure update:
Today we are headed north through IL. We stopped in Mt. Vernon when very ominous dark clouds and giant bolts of lightening impeded our path ahead, but had a nice night at Archway campground gobbling local pizza and watching a movie while the rain fell on our tiny little rooftop :) stay tuned for more adventure updates!

Tiny house travel adventures have begun! We are embarking on a cross country trip in our newest "yurtinyhouse" creation. So far, so good. The home has now visited the Chickasaw River in TN, the Cross-eyed cricket campground outside of Knoxville, and is now sticking out like a beautiful sore thumb in an RV park near the Land between the Lakes in western KY! We are headed up through IL and across the Midwest in the coming week, so if you are in the area keep your eyes peeled for a little cedar home on wheels trekking through :) And if you'd like to make this sweet home your very own, let us know!

We are so excited to introduce our newest creation, which we are calling Yurtinyhouse (website coming soon)!

This beautiful, unique travel Tiny House with removable Yurt loft is truly one of a kind. We designed and built this one as a prototype for our family from salvaged materials/appliances and lots of cedar with the intent to live and travel in it, but it IS currently for sale and we are taking orders for custom built yurtinyhouses as well.

This is particular design is loaded with options! We currently have this home on a trailer which allows for TONS of storage, but it also can easily come off of the trailer and transform into a slide-in camper style home.
