What should you do if you get injured - physical therapy, or just rest?

The answer might surprise you…

What your body really needs is movement, the right amount of load, and gradual progression

And that’s where physical therapy comes in 💪🏼

Congratulations, Coach David!

🏊‍♂️ Post-op elbow recovery for swimmers = restoring motion + rebuilding stability

After manual therapy, his right elbow range of motion was back to normal, which opened the door for the real work: shoulder and elbow stability training to support powerful, efficient strokes.

We finished with biceps strengthening and swim-specific shoulder work to continue building strength, control, and confidence for his return to the pool 🌊

Recovery isn’t just about getting back to baseline. It’s about making sure your body is ready for the demands of your sport💪

Are you a swimmer or athlete working your way back from an injury? Send us a DM or schedule a free PT phone consult to get started.

Maintaining excellence🥇 Re-certified as an orthopaedic clinical specialist✅

Only 13% of physical therapists are Board-Certified Specialists, and maintaining this credential requires a rigorous recertification process every 10 years.

So taking this test means not only am I prepared for the next 10 years, but it’s also a celebration of the past decade.

While these credentials aren’t required for all physical therapists, it’s a commitment to staying current, growing as a clinician, and providing the highest level of care for every patient who walks through our doors.

So this is a thank you to everyone who trusts me with your care🙏🏼

Have an injury that’s keeping you from training, competing, or simply living without pain? We’d love to help. Reach out to schedule an evaluation.

Breaststroke knee doesn’t fix itself…
you have to treat the mechanics and the workload.

This swimmer came in with inflammation of his infrapatellar fat pad from a hard season of training.

In today’s session we hit:
🔥 Joint mobilizations to restore tibiofemoral + patellofemoral motion
🔥 Strength + stability to control load through the knee
🔥 Proprioception + power work to get him back to a strong, efficient whip kick

Better mechanics → better performance → healthier athletes.

It’s been a long week…

Afternoon caffeine was absolutely necessary, and there’s just something about a cold brew on a hot day that hits differently. ☀️🧊☕

A few minutes to sit, sip, and recharge before jumping back into the chaos.

Most of the time, you’ll see me using a pistoning dry needling technique because it’s quick, targeted, and often helps create strong twitch responses.

But in this session, I chose static dry needling instead.

Why?

✔️ It’s often a better option for sensitive or irritated tissues
✔️ It allows me to treat multiple muscles at the same time
✔️ It provides a longer, consistent input to help calm the nervous system
✔️ It can be very effective when an athlete needs relief without the intensity of repeated needle movement

The truth is, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.

Different athletes. Different injuries. Different goals.

Choosing the right technique is about more than just inserting a needle…it’s about understanding the athlete in front of you and using clinical reasoning to select the best treatment for their specific needs🥇

Have you ever tried dry needling? Let me know your experience below. ⬇️
