We made a new friend in the creek!

The Eastern River Cooter, derived from the Bambara & Malinké word for turtle, "kuta", prefers clear rivers and streams with moderate flow and plenty of aquatic vegetation.

At this size, it's difficult to distinguish between male or female, but if everything goes right for this hatching, it can live for up to 40 years!

It was quite a trek to pick her up, but totally worth it! Lol, please excuse the dirty mirror 🤪
