Southern Konnection Southern Konnection is a culturally diverse Family of Linedancers in Houston & Missouri City TX Ages 1 to 101 we "Linedance 4 The Health Of It". Practice is key.

Southern Konnection is "The Most" lively, fun, energetic and diverse Linedance Family in the Greater Houston Area founded by Rachel H-Town's "SouthernGirl" where age and demographics have no boundaries. So If you've always wanted to learn the latest Line Dances but feel you have two left feet, no worries. Hands-On Step-by-Step Instruction make learning easy. Class is always fun and everyone is welcome! Get at least 3500 steps every class, meet new people, listen to great music and you don't need a partner or special clothing. Here's a little advice for new (and experienced) line dancers that I found on the innanets. � Keep these in mind when you come to class:

�You came to learn so don't be afraid to jump in. Once you learn a few basic steps, such as the grapevine, you will find it much easier to pick up new combinations.

�Be comfortable. Wear something casual that allows you to move freely and stay comfortable. Don't forget about your feet. Wear a pair of comfy, flat, closed-toed shoes.

�Stand in the middle. �

As a new line dancer, avoid standing in the back, even though you think that's the best place to be. Because line dancing involves lots of turns, you could at some point find yourself in the front of the entire group! Stand somewhere in the middle, the safest place for
beginners.

�Practice makes perfect

Well, I don't know about perfect but it sure helps the memory out. When you get home it makes a big difference if you just try to practice some of the steps or even the dance that you just learned in class. You may not get it all but you will find that it will have helped you immensely when you attend the next class. And don't worry if you mess up, that's why everyone else is at the class as well, for the practice!

�Don't be afraid to ask for help

If you don't get a step, feel free to ask right away. Often the instructor will ask, "Do It Again" or "Move On" or "Play The Music". Now is your chance to speak up.

�Relax and enjoy yourself:

Line dancing is meant to be fun...don't be intimidated if you are a beginner. Remember that everyone started at the beginning. Look around the dance floor and you will probably see people stumbling, tripping and stepping on toes...but they're probably laughing about it! Just go with the flow and enjoy�

What an incredible honor it is to be recognized and presented with the Trailblazer Award at D'Headliners Watch Da Show Line Dance Team 2nd Annual Queens of H-Town All-Stars Celebration!

I am truly humbled, grateful, and deeply touched by this beautiful recognition.

First, I want to extend a very special and heartfelt THANK YOU to Diane Cole Diane Cole for thinking enough of me to nominate me for such a prestigious honor. Diane, your beautiful words, thoughtfulness, and recognition of my journey mean more to me than you could possibly know. Thank you for seeing me, believing in what I do, and choosing to give me my flowers while I am here to enjoy them. 🌹

To MsDee D'HeadLiners Williams and the entire D’Headliners Family, thank you for bestowing this incredible honor upon me and for creating a platform that celebrates, uplifts, and recognizes those who have poured their hearts into the line dancing community. Your generosity, love, and commitment to honoring others are truly appreciated.

When I began this journey, I never imagined all the lives I would touch, the friendships I would build, or the impact that something I love so dearly could have on others. I simply wanted to share my passion, bring people together, create joy, and encourage healthier lives through the gift of dance.

To be recognized as a Trailblazer is especially meaningful because blazing a trail isn't always easy. There have been challenges, sacrifices, lessons, and moments that tested my strength. But through it all, my love for what I do and the people I serve has never wavered.

This award reminds me that the journey matters, the work matters, and the seeds we plant along the way can blossom into something far greater than we ever imagined.

I receive this honor with a grateful heart, not just for myself, but for every person who has ever stepped onto a dance floor with me, supported my vision, encouraged me, or become part of my Southern Konnection family. You ALL are part of this journey and this recognition.

Thank you, Diane, Dawn, and the entire D’Headliners Family, for giving me my flowers. I will cherish this moment and this honor for years to come.

The journey continues, the passion remains, and there is still so much more to give!
