I run 8+ adult, couple yearlings and ram lambs together. Katahdins. They're usually pals.
Occasionally they do this, their heads crack together so loud.
I've lost a few over the years so it's scary to watch

I like thick, muscled ewes
8 different breeding groups means some are on pasture and some are in outside groups or barn groups on hay.
Some of my corral panels are suffering from rams butting each other through them

Some good Katahdin ram lambs, two sired by NWT25077 from Georgia.
I've been raising Katahdins for 28yrs and don't trim hooves or routinely worm 160 Katahdin ewes.

Do I need 17 rams and ram lambs for 165 ewes? Since buying the 4 ram lambs from the NE I've been thinking and decided to let a couple of the proven stud rams go. Both are sired by KRK7107, one of my all time favorite rams, both have some of the older genetics that are sought after.
I'll still have 2 sons and many daughters.
They're deep bodied, thick, muscled and sire lambs that are too. Never need wormed or hooves trimmed. Lots of fun color genetics too.
I can get a ride for them or ram lambs heading to NAILIE in Kentucky in Nov
