*2026 USGO Tournament Results + End of Season Recap and Outlook*

1st Place: Appleton Assassins
2nd Place: UP Hardwood
3rd Place: Monte Carlo

After 2 days of action packed guts frisbee, there were only 3 teams left standing Sunday afternoon. Monte Carlo and UP Hardwood battled it out in the Losers Bracket Final for a spot in the championship. UP Hardwood held the lead for most of the match, however Monte Carlo put up a wall towards the end and fought back to tie the game heading into overtime. After a few tremendous game point catches from both sides, UP Hardwood was able to pull out the win 24-22. UP Hardwood then faced off against the 2022 and 2023 USGO champions, the Appleton Assassins in a best of 3 Finals match. The Assassins and UP Hardwood went back and forth the first two switches, switching sides at 11-11, however the Assassins turned up the heat and finished the game with a 21-17 win in game 1. Game 2 began with a 6-5 and 12-10 switch both in favor of the Assassins. However by the 3rd switch, the Assassins were able to take complete control of the game and stormed away to a 21-14 victory in game 2, declaring themselves as champions at the 2026 United States Guts Open in Lansing, MI.

With that, the 2026 USA GUTS major tournament season has come to a close. We congratulate all tournament champions from this past year as well as all teams who competed at each and every tournament for their high level of play. This year we set record numbers of teams at our major tournaments, with growth pointing in the right direction. We look forward to continuing to explore ways to grow and improve our sport this offseason and in the coming years.

The registration cost is $200 per team plus $50 per player. Hotel has not been finalized but will be affordable with transportation to and from the fields.

PAPER PLATE TOURNEY RETURNS!

The Sunday players party will be at Eagle Monk Brewery (short trip from fields), with FREE PIZZA while it lasts and Paper Plate Guts. We hope to have a big turnout.

***USA GUTS UPDATE AND LOOKAHEAD***

We have a few events coming up over the next couple of weeks that you won’t want to miss!

The 2026 PDGA Disc Golf World Championships in Detroit, MI teed off today and that means the USA Guts demo is only 2 days away! Make sure to check out the event page on our USA Guts page for all information if you plan on attending. The Guts demo is scheduled for Friday the 28th from 12pm-8pm at the Black Locust course. Start time may potentially move later in the day so stay tuned to the event page for any updates!

Then, the final USA Guts major of the season, the United States Guts Open (USGO) in Lansing, MI will be taking place September 5th and 6th! The USGO will be at a new location this year, Mount Hope Park. Make sure to check out the event page and get teams registered ASAP. Rumor has it that one of the best Guts Frisbee teams of all time, and reigning 2024 World Guts Champions will be competing in a USA Guts event for the first time in 3 years 👀… You won’t want to miss this event!

We will again be conducting the end of the year awards with winners chosen by YOU, our beloved Guts community, so be on the lookout for those nomination forms in the few weeks after USGO.

The LeiOut Beach Guts Tournament is back for 2027! In Huntington Beach on January 16th and 17th, Guts Frisbee action will hit the beaches of California again for some action packed frisbee. Be on the lookout for details over the next month with event and registration information.

There are plenty more details to come, but there will be many opportunities for international Guts competition in 2027. So make sure to start saving now if you want to travel to some cool destinations and play some Guts!

Two of the most recent inductees into the International Frisbee/USA Guts Hall of Fame have been featured in an MLive.com article on their time playing Guts Frisbee.

Congrats again Steve Desjardins and Janna Field as well as all other Hall of Fame inductees!

Two Washtenaw County residents were recently inducted into the International Frisbee Hall of Fame for playing guts frisbee, a game originating in the Upper Peninsula.
