⚾🇺🇸 Cubs Armed Forces Appreciation Day!

The Chicago Cubs will recognize active-duty military members, veterans, and their families on Tuesday, September 1 at Wrigley Field!

Fans who purchase the Armed Forces Special Ticket Offer will receive a game ticket, a special-edition Cubs hoodie, and a challenge coin presented by Toyota. A portion of ticket proceeds will also benefit Blue Star Families Chicagoland Chapter. 🎖️

Hoodies are available while supplies last on a first-come, first-served basis.

🇺🇸 A New Memorial to Honor Desert Shield & Desert Storm Veterans

On October 24, 2026, a new memorial honoring those who served in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm is scheduled to open to the public on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

The memorial will pay tribute to all who served and remember the 383 service members who lost their lives during the operations.

A long-awaited place of honor, remembrance, and recognition.

The Illinois State Fair is welcoming Veterans, Gold Star Families, and Veterans’ immediate family members for a special day on Sunday, August 16th, in Springfield, Illinois.

Veterans and their immediate family members receive free admission, with a full day of planned activities:

Schedule of Events:
10:00 AM – JROTC Competition & Veteran Resource Fair
11:30 AM – Welcome to Veterans Day Ceremony at Lincoln Stage
12:00 PM – Complimentary lunch for veterans & immediate family
3:00 PM – JROTC Awards Ceremony
4:00 PM – Veterans Parade, lining up on Main Street near the Grandstand

A day to honor our Illinois veterans and Gold Star Families while enjoying the State Fair together.
