University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners are in the Social Lounge every Tuesday from 10am until Noon through the end of August. Bring your gardening/landscaping questions to them (and a photo if you have one, too).

Rain or Shine...Today's the day! NAC's Annual Food Drive at Fountain View Circle Drive, 9am-2pm. Greatest needs: cleaning supplies, paper goods, personal care items, non-perishable items. No expired goods, please. A box will also be available at Meadow View Lodge for monetary donations only: cash, checks, gift cards starting at 7am.

Have you visited the art room lately? Pencil & Palette's newest installation is a stunning "Chronology of Mosaic Creation" collaborative masterpiece. To create it, they divided a single poster into 3" x 4" sections. The pieces were distributed were distributed to 35 volunteer artists, along with small canvases and instructions to replicate their assigned piece. Working blindly without knowing the final picture, each artist used their own unique style and chosen medium. When finally assembled, the image was revealed: a magnificent, blended rendition of famed Mexican artist Frida Kahlo (prominent in the 1920s–1950s). The final installation beautifully showcases a diverse mix of graphite, colored pencil, acrylic, and watercolor. When you're at Prairie Lodge, stop by to take a look!

The Huntley Fire Department took home the win with a 3-1 victory over the Huntley Police Department at yesterday’s National Night Out!
We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and it was incredible to see so many residents turn out to cheer on both of our local departments. A HUGE thank you to everyone who attended, and a special shout-out to the incredible local businesses whose generous donations of gift cards, gift baskets, and monetary funds supported the Huntley Police for the Special Olympics Torch Run: Blessed Little Kitchen, BBQ King, Brunch Cafe, Berkshire Hathaway Realty, DC Cobbs, DeFiore Funeral Home, Fast Eddies, Heartland Bank, Huntley Deli, Huntley Florist, Huntley Realty, Jameson’s Jewel, Kaplan Paving, Morkes, Parkside, PDubs Pet Supplies, Rookies, Rosati’s, Sal’s Pizzeria, 7Brew, Sew Hop’d, Starbucks, Taco Loco and Village Inn.
