The wrong tryout led to the right sport. 🏐🩵

In Finding Her Coaching Voice with Kaelin Steele, Part 1, Kaelin “Coach Kae” Steele joins Korohen to share how accidentally showing up to volleyball tryouts became the beginning of her volleyball story.

From a timid assistant coach finding her voice to a confident head coach and United’s 2026 Coach of the Year, Coach Kae reflects on learning through experience, making mistakes and finding confidence along the way.

One lesson that stuck with her? Give athletes room to be proud of themselves, have fun and celebrate the moments they’ve worked for.
