Today we closed this chapter of the book for our team and two seniors Todd & Brian Atkins.
I have always believed in the importance of exit interviews at the conclusion of a hoops season. I think it gives us coaches and kids a chance to have some closure and also gives us all a chance to give the kids our expectations and to also hear theirs as well as we move forward.
I can’t thank you all enough for the support throughout the season and beyond.
We appreciate it beyond belief!
Awards will be 3/5/2026 in the high school cafeteria at 6pm.

The Jayhawks take on the Pilgrims from Lansing Christian. Winner moves on to the District Final Friday night at 7pm.
Just get to Friday night and anything can happen.

Tradition was tradition tonight. Capped off by a 55-52 Jayhawk Win!
We’re so thankful for the support of our staff and student section, family and friends as well tonight. The boys played hard and were able to grind out a win tonight vs East Jackson.
But most importantly we were able to keep the tradition of signing the Jayhawk Promise board for our two seniors Brian and Todd Atkins.
As the marker dried on our board tonight it capped a chapter of these two kids lives. But it also left a legacy of honesty, integrity and commitment for those two young men. They stuck with their childhood dreams and climbed the ladder to varsity basketball and for that we are thankful.
We’ve never promised anyone anything in our program besides our love and commitment and the simple fact that you’ll be a better person when you finish your time in our program.
Brian and Todd, we love you guys. But more importantly we respect and appreciate you and the sacrifices you made for the Vandercook Lake basketball program.
Let’s go give the Pilgrims of Lansing Christian our best shot next Wednesday 7:00pm at home!

As we head into the last week of the season before the tournament here is our schedule.
2/16 @ Sand Creek JV 5:30 varsity to follow
2/19 Home vs East Jackson 5:30 JV- Varsity to follow.
Wednesday 2/25 we will play districts at home.
7pm Vs Lansing Christian
(No passes, all tickets must be purchased through the go fan link which I will share as soon as it’s made available to the school.)

Absolutely love the energy! If the ESPN CREW shows up next Thursday vs East Jackson, I’ll buy pizzas for the entire student section!
