One meal isn’t a failed week.
One missed workout isn’t a failed week.
One weekend isn’t a failed week.
The “screw it, I’ll start Monday” mindset is what turns a small detour into a full-on vacation from your goals.
You don’t need to be perfect.
You need to get better at coming back.
What’s your most common “well, I already screwed up…” moment?

Exercise is not repayment for food.
You don’t have to “earn” dinner.
You don’t have to punish yourself because you ate something you enjoyed.
And you don’t have to turn every workout into a test of how much suffering you can tolerate.
Train because you want a stronger, more capable body.
Eat because your body needs fuel.
Those things can coexist.
I started exercising at over 300 pounds.
And I was terrified.
I didn’t know what I was doing. I was self-conscious, overwhelmed, and convinced everyone in the gym was looking at me.
So I did what a lot of people do when they don’t know where to start…
I turned to YouTube. 😂
I followed workout videos. I listened to what I now know was a LOT of bro science. I used workout disks at home. I pieced things together as I went.
Eventually, I worked up the courage to join a gym.
And one of the biggest things I learned wasn’t actually about exercise.
Your environment matters.
The cheapest gym isn’t always the best gym for you.
The fanciest gym isn’t automatically the best either.
The best gym is the one where you feel comfortable enough to keep showing up.
Where you can ask questions.
Where you aren’t made to feel like you don’t belong because you’re bigger, newer, slower, or still figuring things out.
Because you do not need to get fit before you walk through the door.
You don’t need to lose 50 pounds first.
You don’t need to know how every machine works.
You don’t need to already look like you belong there.
You just need to start somewhere.
And if you’re starting from the place I was once standing in, I want you to know this:
You belong there, too. ❤️
Your program should have a “crappy week” version.
Because crappy weeks are not a scheduling glitch. They’re part of being a human.
A sustainable plan doesn’t ask, “Can you do the perfect workout?”
It asks, “What’s the best version of this that you can realistically do today?”
That’s a MUCH more useful question.
Save this for the next time life gets messy.
You are not automatically “bad at consistency” because you can’t follow a plan that only works when everything goes perfectly.
Real life needs to be accounted for.
The goal isn’t to build a plan for your best week.
It’s to build one you can still come back to when the week goes sideways.
Because your crappy Tuesday shouldn’t erase everything you did Monday.
That’s not failure. That’s life.
If ‘just be more consistent’ never actually helped you, there’s a reason.
Because that isn’t really advice.
It’s just describing the outcome you want without telling you how to get there.
Consistency doesn’t come from magically becoming more disciplined.
It comes from having a plan that can survive your actual life.
The busy weeks.
The stressful days.
The nights you don’t sleep well.
The days when motivation is nowhere to be found.
Your plan needs to account for those things — not pretend they don’t exist.
You don’t need to build a perfect routine.
You need to build one you can actually repeat.
And sometimes that means changing the structure instead of blaming yourself.
Send me a message and tell me where you’re starting from. I’ll help you figure out your next step.
If you’re on a GLP-1, the medication may help manage your appetite.
It doesn’t decide what your body loses along the way.
When you’re eating significantly less, you can lose lean mass along with body fat—especially if protein and resistance training are missing from the equation.
And that matters.
Because I don’t want you to just be smaller.
I want you to be stronger.
The goal is to preserve as much muscle as possible while you lose body fat, build strength, and create habits that support you long after the scale stops moving.
GLP-1 medication can be a tool.
It just shouldn’t be the entire plan.
That’s where the training and nutrition side comes in.
Want help building that foundation alongside your medication? That’s exactly what we work on inside The Reset. Send me a message and let’s talk.

The scale is data. It isn’t a report card.
Your weight can fluctuate because of water, sodium, hormones, digestion, sleep, and a bunch of other things that have nothing to do with whether you’re actually making progress.
If weighing yourself every day helps you see your trend without messing with your head, there’s nothing wrong with doing it.
But if one higher number can completely change your mood or make you feel like you did something wrong, it might be worth stepping back and looking at the bigger picture.
One weigh-in is a data point. Your trend tells the story.
If the scale has become more stressful than helpful, send me a message. That’s something we can work through together.
If a workout ever felt way harder than it ‘should’ have — even with nothing on the plan changed — you’re not imagining it and you’re not falling off.
Sleep, stress, everything else going on that week affects what your body can actually do that day. Some weeks are push weeks. Some weeks are just show-up weeks. Both count.
Which one are you in right now — push week or show-up week? Tell me in the comments.
