Nail these steps to complete the perfect process of a putt. A good put shouldn’t be judged by whether or not it went in, it should be judged by whether or not you followed your process. Read it, plan it, line it up, set up, look to gauge speed, roll it in! Follow these steps and MAKE MORE PUTTS!

SLOW MO SWING DRILL - try taking FULL SWINGS as slow as absolutely possible and see if you can still make solid contact. The make it a little faster and a little faster until you get back to full speed. It will solidify your control and make you a better ball striker!

The FASTEST was to DROP your score is to get really good at the shots that matter most! YOUR SHORT GAME! Get great at putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play, and you will get the ball in the hole FASTER and start writing lower scores down in your card!

Use your thoughts and words to your advantage by only focusing and saying where you WANT the ball to go. Focussing too much on where you DON’T WANT your ball yo go, usually makes it go there. Pick your target, think about your target, look at your target, focus on your target, and you’ll be amazed at how often you HIT YOUR TARGET!

Your JUDGEMENT of your putt shouldn’t be tied to whether or not it went in. It should be tied to whether or not you followed your process, made a plan, and put a good stroke on it. After the ball leaves your putter, you no longer have control. You can do everything right, and still miss the putt. If you judge your process rather than your result, you will be less likely to change what you’re doing and start to MAKE MORE PUTTS!

4 CLUB STARTER SET! Get started today WITHOUT an entire set. Golf doesn’t have to be expensive and you can usually find really good deals if your getting pre-owned stuff. Start small, start enjoying it, and build on what you got! Start with these 4:

FAIRWAY WOOD - use it to tee off and hit into greens from far away.

IRON - used for mid range shots. If you’re just starting with 1, go with a 8 or 7 iron.

WEDGE - used close to and around the green. A 56 degree or sand wedge works great.

PUTTER - used on the green to roll into the hole.

Don’t be afraid to buy used, FB MARKETPLACE and EBAY are great places to find great deals!

When setting up to the ball, start with your club. Set it behind the ball pointing at your intended target. THEN set your body parallel to that line. Your BODY LINE controls the direction the club swings into the ball, and can be the factor of whether it curves or flies straight. Making your BODY LINE parallel to your TARGET LINE, will help the club swing STRAIGHT into the ball and fly as straight as possible!

DONT KEEP SCORE when your first start out. Only focus on making solid contact and enjoying your round. If you tie your experience to what score you shot, you’ll likely be discouraged and not have as much fun! So enjoy being outside, smacking a little white ball around, and time with friends and family!
