Building Relationships That Strengthen the Property Tax Industry 👍
This week, NTLA Executive Director Brad Westover is representing the National Tax Lien Association at the National Association of County Collectors, Treasurers and Finance Officers (NACCTFO) Annual Conference. Events like NACCTFO are invaluable because they bring together the public officials responsible for property tax administration with the private sector partners who provide the technology, services, and expertise that keep property tax operations running efficiently. NACCTFO's mission focuses on education, collaboration, and improving county government through professional development and the exchange of best practices.
For NTLA, attending NACCTFO is about much more than exhibiting. It is an opportunity to:
▪️Strengthen relationships with county tax collectors, treasurers, and finance officers from across the country.
▪️Connect with industry-leading sponsors and technology providers who support the property tax community.
▪️Meet with current NTLA members while introducing the Association to new public sector leaders and partners.
▪️Listen to the challenges counties are facing and continue advancing conversations that support effective, transparent, and successful property tax sales.
Brad spent time visiting with many of NTLA's valued members and industry partners, including GovEase, Blazer Title Search, SRI Inc, and others that continue to support innovation and modernization in the property tax industry.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to connect during the conference. The relationships built through events like NACCTFO help strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors, benefiting counties, taxpayers, and the entire property tax community.

🇺🇸 250 Years of Liberty. Land. Legacy.
This Independence Day, our nation celebrates a historic milestone, the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
For two and a half centuries, the promise of liberty has been closely tied to the right to own, protect, and invest in property. Strong communities are built on responsible property ownership, sound public policy, and the shared commitment to supporting the schools, infrastructure, public safety, and local services that help our neighborhoods thrive.
As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, the National Tax Lien Association also reflects on 25 years of promoting responsible tax lien and tax deed investing, supporting local governments, advocating for property rights, and creating opportunities for investors and communities alike.
Here’s to the next chapter of Liberty. Land. Legacy.
Happy Independence Day from the National Tax Lien Association!

The U.S. Supreme Court issued its decision in Pung v. Isabella County, affirming that while property owners are entitled to surplus proceeds from a tax foreclosure sale, they are not constitutionally entitled to a property’s hypothetical fair market value after a lawful foreclosure.
This decision provides much-needed clarity and preserves the long-standing principles that support the nation’s property tax enforcement system, helping local governments fund essential public services while maintaining fairness for taxpayers and protecting surplus equity rights.
Throughout this case, the National Tax Lien Association was proud to advocate on behalf of the industry by submitting an amicus curiae brief to the U.S. Supreme Court, ensuring the Court understood the broader implications this case could have had on local governments, tax sale systems, investors, and communities across the country.
A sincere thank you to Bruce Bronster, Leonid Krechmer, and Andrew Kazin at Bronster LLP for their exceptional work in authoring and filing the NTLA’s amicus brief. We are grateful for their expertise, dedication, and outstanding representation of our members and the industry.
We also extend our appreciation to the NTLA Legislative Committee, Public Relations Committee, Advisory Council, our members, and industry partners whose support made this effort possible.
This case is a powerful reminder of why organizations like the NTLA matter. Advocacy doesn’t happen overnight. It requires collaboration, expertise, and a unified voice working to protect an industry that supports local governments, taxpayers, and communities nationwide.
