Thank you KOHA and Scott Dunckel for connecting us!

I know my hockey career never happens if it wasn't for KOHA and all the volunteers. Our hope is that our little rink can help produce some more hockey players!

If there is anyone out there looking for something good to do with their surplus of funds we'd be happy to name the rink after you if you wanna put in a full size ODR! Hey...you never know if you don't ask. :)

Here's to next season!

Looking at the extended forecast, we have sadly decided that our season has come to an end. While we welcome the spring weather, we’d like to take a moment to recap our first season at Echo Valley.

First of all, THANK YOU! When we purchased Echo Valley, we had no idea what we were actually taking on or how the community would embrace our journey. It's been humbling to say the least. We're excited to have made it through our first season. It seems as if we blinked and it's over! We've learned a ton, and hope to use this off-season to dial things in and provide an even better experience next season.

We feel lucky to have had such an incredible staff. We are grateful for the returning staff led by Kendal Pluchinsky to take us under their wings and work with us with what worked and could be opportunities to adapt. Our new staff this year joined in seamlessly, and became a family quickly.

Then we have our dear friend Floy Latham who just started showing up to help, and next think we know, she’s a part of the 3 legged stool! We wouldn’t have had the same success without her! My dad, John Avink showing up day after day working endless hours was such a gift. Also taking this all on with my partner in life, Sarah K W Avink, oldest kid Henry tackling all things IT, Charlie launching thousands down the toboggan lane and Tessa learning the ropes ready to push us aside to take the whole place over.

None of this would have come together without all the volunteers and businesses that stepped up on unreasonable timeliness and limited budgets. Please know you're a huge part of keeping this community cornerstone in existence.

We feel honored to have been able to welcome thousands of people from all over the state, country, and world to share in our little piece of Michigan winter heaven.

As for next year...our plan is to fine tune the grounds and facilities. Many have asked about off-season offerings and we have not taken that off the table yet, but our first priority is to be 100% ready for next winter season.

Until the snow flies again…
