We feel right at home with 𝑻𝒂𝒚 in the studio 🖤

Our clients were grinning (and tired) after taking their pole workshops in July. Guest instructors always bring great energy and their own unique style to Femme Fatale Dayton! It is a bonus that 𝑻𝒂𝒚 is our neighbor and we have been able to have her out more than once.

In July we hosted the cutest sleepover at the studio!

Pajamas, stuffies, and friendship...OH YEAH!

It was so fun to have members meet, talk, and play on the apparatuses. We even caught this cute moment of true sleepover energy.

And Stephanie | Aerialist had a whole photoshoot with her stuffed animal in the silks room 😍

Greatness doesn't start in the air. It starts from strong foundations...and sometimes rolling on the floor laughing with friends!

Our advanced lyra students took a twisty pose from the floor to the hoop. AND had a great time working on it 💪

We could not be more proud of all of our students and the progress they made this month. It can be difficult to make it to the gym and to class in summer. We appreciate when you choose to spend your evenings with us!

Meet our next Featured Femme Fatale: Annalecia! ()

Read on for her reflection on her aerial journey...

1. What brought you to Femme Fatale originally?

My sister brought me in 2018 to try the “Circus Workout”. I tried more silks classes, then some lyra classes, and couldn’t stay away.

2. What keeps you coming back?

Aerial gives me a sense of wellbeing that I have never experienced doing anything else. When I’m in the air learning something new, I am in my comfort zone.

3. What kind of progress or growth have you noticed since starting?

The growth goes beyond the classes and performances. I stopped making myself smaller in rooms I thought I didn’t belong in. I no longer feel shy to speak up in conversations and let my voice be heard. I’ve moved with more confidence than ever before, in every area of life.

4. What does pole/aerial/dance mean to you personally?

Aerial flow allows me to enter a meditative state, where the whole world disappears for that moment. All my stress and anxiety melts away. I can express myself and release emotions through movement.

5. How would you describe the Femme community or atmosphere?

Safe. We hold each other up. There is no gatekeeping of skills or secrets. We share and support each other in class and out of class.

6. Is there a moment, class, or achievement that stands out to you?

Early on I’d say the first time I climbed to the ceiling on silks. I felt unstoppable. And recently, I’d say my first aerial performance outside of a student showcase. Being hired to perform is something I never thought was possible for me.

7. What would you tell someone who’s considering their first class at Femme?

Whatever you are feeling, all of us here have probably felt the same way at some point. You may feel awkward, or shy, or self doubting. Try a class anyway. Even if you have no dance or athletic background, I promise you will fit right in.
