Parting words
Heather: I am so grateful for the Circle Modern Dance community and its role in making Knoxville feel like home for the past seven years. I have made close friends while taking Sunday classes and through choreographic and performance opportunities. One of the highlights as a Circle Core Member was co-directing Shadows & Light at the Knoxville Museum of Art with Louisa Rader. The piece From Me To You For Us, originally performed live by core members in MDPL 2023 is debuting in 2026 as a dance film. I am sad to leave my friends in Knoxville but I look forward to the adventure that awaits at the University of Utah as the Program Director for the Screendance Graduate Certificate.
Katie: I am so very stoked that I found Circle. Or maybe it found me, who can say. I was really missing having a solid adult dance community after moving from California, and right when I was about to give up looking, along came CMD. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to perform, teach, and choreograph with/for all of you lovely humans. I'm even more grateful for the friends that I have made, and I will miss you all terribly as I move on to my next adventure. If you find yourself craving some adventure of your own, come visit me and the dogs in Fairbanks (yes, Alaskaaaaa). xoxo, K
