💙🏈 TWO CARVER KIDS.
TWO DIFFERENT JOURNEYS.
ONE INCREDIBLE IMPACT 💙🏈
This Sunday, two of our Carver Kids had the opportunity to attend an Indianapolis Colts football game, thanks to the generosity of Digital Realty!
These tickets were originally auctioned off at our Carver Gala last week and then generously donated right back to Carver, giving two of our kids an unforgettable experience.
But there's something special about the two young people in this photo, and we want to share their stories.
Because when you support Carver, you're supporting more than a community center. You're investing in the lives and futures of young people.
💙 MEET ANTHONY.
Anthony is 16 years old and has been part of the Carver family since 2023.
We first met Anthony when he was in the 7th grade, participating in our winter basketball league. Like many young teenagers, Anthony was still learning how to navigate his emotions, handle challenges, and make positive decisions.
But we recognized something in Anthony early on. He had tremendous potential. He just needed guidance, encouragement, accountability, and people who believed in him.
Through patience, mentorship, honest conversations, and people who continued showing up for him, we began to see that potential turn into something special.
Fast forward three years.
Anthony is now a varsity football player, a good student, and a growing leader in our community. He recently preached his very first sermon at Citadel Faith Ministries! 🙌
And what makes us especially proud is that Anthony continues to give back.
He volunteers at our concession stand, promotes our teen events, and shows up whenever Carver needs an extra hand.
The young man who once came to Carver looking for guidance is now becoming someone others can look up to.
💙 MEET JAYLEIGH.
Jayleigh is one of our original Carver Kids!
She's been playing in our winter basketball league since she was in KINDERGARTEN!
Year after year, she's spent countless hours on the Carver basketball courts, practicing, competing, building friendships, and developing her skills.
Today, Jayleigh is a freshman in high school, and all those years of hard work and dedication have helped earn her a starting position on the Kokomo High School basketball team! 🏀👏
But her accomplishments don't stop on the court. Jayleigh is an A-B student who understands the importance of academics, discipline, and commitment.
And if you're looking for her, chances are you'll find her at Carver!
Whether she's working on her game or volunteering around the building, Jayleigh continues to be a familiar face and a positive example for the younger kids coming behind her. She's showing the next generation what consistency, hard work, and dedication can accomplish.
❤️ TWO DIFFERENT STORIES. ONE SHARED PURPOSE.
Anthony and Jayleigh have taken different paths, but both represent something incredibly important about Carver.
Some kids come to Carver needing mentorship, direction, and someone to believe in their potential.
Others come with strong foundations, big dreams, and a desire to grow, compete, and achieve even more.
Both deserve a place where they belong. Both deserve opportunities. And both have something valuable to contribute to the next generation.
Because Carver isn't just about helping kids overcome challenges.
It's about helping EVERY kid reach their full potential.
It's about giving young people a safe place to grow, positive role models to look up to, and opportunities to become role models themselves.
And sometimes, the greatest impact isn't something you can measure on a scoreboard or in a financial report.
It's watching a 7th grader grow into a leader.
It's watching a kindergartner grow into a high school starter.
It's watching kids who grew up at Carver turn around and give back to Carver.
THAT'S IMPACT. 💙
When you purchase a gala ticket, sponsor a program, volunteer, or make a donation, you're helping make stories like these possible.
You're not simply supporting a basketball league, a building, or an event.
You're investing in the next generation of leaders, athletes, students, and community members.
A special THANK YOU to Digital Realty for making Sunday's Colts experience possible! Your generosity gave Anthony and Jayleigh an opportunity to create memories they'll carry with them for years to come.
We're incredibly proud of these two young people and excited about everything their futures hold.
THIS IS CARVER.
THIS IS COMMUNITY.
THIS IS WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS. 💙
